Great Deals on Halloween stuff on Nov 1st

Post by emayess » Fri Oct 29, 2010 12:48 pm

While picking up some last minute supplies I noticed that the Halloween super-stores, Spirit, have 50% off sales the day after Halloween (Nov 1). This is a great way to get cheap blacklight tubes and strings, strobes, as well as costumes and some other random party gear.

Spirit is nationwide, more or less.... http://www.spirithalloween.com/storelocation.aspx

I'll be picking up some 4 foot backlights for $15/ea on Monday as well as possily a carnival-style mask!
nothing to see here, please move along

We were in Lowe's last night and the remaining Halloween stuff was half off the sale price. Picked up some great battery operated lights.

Not all Spirit stores do 50% off sales, especially if they are corporate.
We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.

I like blacklight! A LOT and LOTS of of it! And coffee too, LOTS of coffee....(where did that come from?) hahaha...prolly 'cause it's so friggin' early in the morn for me.

emayess, I'm not an expert but I didn't see many carnival style masks being worn on the playa...(unless you're famous and NEED to diguise yourself) seems they might be a hassle, interfere with glasses, goggles, dust mask/head rags whatevas...what I think is cool are the blacklight pens/makeup for face...you can create some interesting designs that glow in blacklight...whoa, there were some incredible ones! So what if they wash off, they seem easy enough to maintain or re-do as needed...rinse n repeat as they say on eplaya...lol

I missed/forgot to locate and check out a living/moving wall of art and bodies illumninated by blacklight (can't recall what it was called) I read about it here... nevertheless... I saw endless beautiful face paint art...some looked air brushed! wow! but most were drawn on :)

Thanks for the tip blacklight sale tip emayess...and Anti and OED.

The problem with the majority of the Mardi Gras masks is they have feathers. Yes, they are a pain with goggles, etc. Better for nighttime wear. I have tried a couple masks on the playa and can't stand the dust between the mask and my skin.

Yup, I left a BUNCH of awesome feathery ones at my abode....I was "gifted" them at an Estate sale when I told them about BM and the gifting society...that was schweet!

(I stole "schweet!" from FM, I admit it...too funny and schweet! to let go of it, hahaha)

Anyway, I will not attempt spraying them with clear spray paint...they'll work great for decomps though and parteees...hahaha....I need to re-gift them at the next BM appropriate gathering, off playa. :D

The kid does have a special place in my heart...I do LOVE blacklight! (we need a "heart" emoticon btw..:)

A night party would be a good use...still...most are on bikes and can you say "thrashed feathery mess" maybe not some... and those ghostly non-feathered types would work for early in the week... by later in the week I could accidently destroy almost anything! Not quite that bad but so much going on...

Those air soft or paint gun masks are popular and some looked classy! I was told they work very well...not my style but hmmm maybe...made from thin neoprene or something like that. One of my passengers was wearing one and a burner ran up and asked us what where and how to buy them...he said $15 or $20 bucks...I thought it would've been waaay more but not so bad. (forgot where, maybe a company out of London, I think?)
