Devvy Kidd just notified me that this is BS. There is no such representative.
This is a vid from Youtube. It's testimony by some politician. Much of it is redacted for security. It "reads" like some kind of sci-fi ET attack. Just WTF is behind it??
Maybe it's related to the pyramid UFOs

I know that y'all would rather read about survival skills but I'm back to unemployment. I know that employment is pretty basic to survival,,, it just isn't very engaging.
This from The Daily Reckoning;
" The US needs to create 125,000-150,000 jobs each month just to absorb new workers and prevent unemployment from rising. So returning to the old peak employment a decade later would hardly suggest a healthy labor market.
It is worth pausing a minute to think about that last paragraph. It's not enough just to get back the 8.36 million jobs that were lost in the crisis. The US also needs to create about 15 million MORE jobs over the next 10 years in order to stay even with population growth and return to full employment. That's about 23 million all together.
Well, guess how many jobs were created during the last 4 months. None. Instead, the economy LOST nearly 400,000 jobs. So you could say that at the present rate, Hell will freeze before we recover those 8.36 million jobs...and it be even longer before the economy is back at full employment."
Non-federal government jobs are disappearing by the thousands. The "99ers" are losing hope. The states borrowed $ billions and billions from FED GOV to keep benefits going. The FED looks to be turning off the tap.
I see an all-pervasive attitude from investment papers that "austerity" MUST be imposed so that they don't lose anything on their investments. This IS going to turn into class warfare. The PTB in Brussels are screaming for more tax BUT, NOT on corporations;
http://www.thedailybell.com/1440/Irish- ... s-Now.html
It's well proven that each additional dollar of tax reduces the GDP by $ 3 dollars. So, they squeeze blood out of the people to pay off investors and corporations.
They may as well shoot themselves in the foot. In the end, reducing the GDP will pull everybody down.
They had better hope that the Celts don't remember their roots. Years ago, the Celts sacked Rome. They severely thrashed the Roman empire. The Roman empire built Londinium. 400 years later, no Roman could set foot in Ireland. Emperor Hadrian had to build a wall across GB to keep them at bay. Celts and Scots.
Send the Celts to Brussels to set things right,,,, or at least,,,,,, alight.

TIME seems to be somewhat worried about the FED. If you listen to them and Celente and Kunstler, they go on about revolution. Are they predicting revolution OR trying to put the idea in our heads?
http://curiouscapitalist.blogs.time.com ... civil-war/
If we slowly starve, we will try to make changes. If we revolt, we will ask for martial law. Under martial law, I doubt that we would be able to organize.
Gun ownership would be doubtful also.

If you don't know your neighbors, maybe now is a good time to change that situation. Because when shit hits the fan, it will be neighborhoods that will rise or fall based upon their ability to organize, defend and provide necessities in a pinch.can't sit still wrote:TIME seems to be somewhat worried about the FED. I live in a mobile home park. Most of my neighbors I'd rather not have anything to do with, and I suspect not many if any prep and plan for shtf scenarios. The last thing I want is for them to know the level of prepping I do.
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

If y'all are depending on a pension from public service, there seems to be a problem.
"October 20 – Bloomberg (David Wilson): “Pension funds for employees of U.S. state and local governments are headed for a shortfall of more than $1 trillion within three years, according to a study published by the National Bureau of Economic Research… Unfunded liabilities for public pensions will amount to an estimated $1.05 trillion in 2013 on an inflation-adjusted basis, using 2009 dollars, according to the research"
I didn't see what the shortfall will be in 2012,,, 2011.

Well I must admit that most of our neighbors don't even habla English. Out of a dozen residences, I'm guessing THREE would be on the same page when shtf,,,, including us.Sail Man wrote:I live in a mobile home park. UJH, yeah the LDS have the right idea when it comes to preparation. But that always seemed to be counterintuitive to faith,,,, to me anyway. But neighbors with a stash is a comfort for you, I'm sure.

Ummmmmm,,,,,, psssssssst,,,,,,, hey! you guys ever heard of Infragard?
InfraGard is an information sharing and analysis effort serving the interests and combining the knowledge base of a wide range of members. At its most basic level, InfraGard is a partnership between the FBI and the private sector. InfraGard is an association of businesses, academic institutions, state and local law enforcement agencies, and other participants dedicated to sharing information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the United States. InfraGard Chapters are geographically linked with FBI Field Office territories. Each InfraGard Chapter has an FBI Special Agent Coordinator assigned to it, and the FBI Coordinator works closely with Supervisory Special Agent Program Managers in the Cyber Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Yep - it's been around for few years. As I understand it, it's basically an alliance between the public sector and the FBI to provide more eyes and ears. Not the sneaky spying type you might think of. As an example - there is not enough law enforcement available to protect our infrastructures such as transportation from stuff as simple as a high jacking or as dangerous as a terrorist bomb. Who knows the transportation industry the best - the truckers themselves. What better way to protect transportation that to have the truckers keeping an eye out for the bad guys. The truckers know where and what to look for and are able to provide the added eyes and ears that could prevent the bad guys from doing what they do.Trishntek wrote:Ummmmmm,,,,,, psssssssst,,,,,,, hey! you guys ever heard of Infragard?

Yes! Very much so UJH. The Mormon Church has a long history of prepping and they have local canneries all over that sell and allow you to can preps, wheats, beans etc. Sometimes non-members of the church can use them, I would highly suggest talking to your neighbors, they may be able to help you gain access to a cannery. One of the routes I have taken as my local cannery doesnt allow outsiders, is to order from their online store:unjonharley wrote:I have a couple of top LDS right next door.. I've ordered wheat from them and they ship quickly and cheaply.

http://www.cyberussr.com/rus/morozov.htmlPavlik Morozov, supposedly killed by "kulak" relatives for denouncing his father to Stalin's secret police (OGPU-NKVD), was adopted as a patron saint by the "Young Pioneers," the Soviet equivalent to the "Boy Scouts." His life exemplified the duty of all good Soviet citizens to become informers, even at the expense of family ties.
I guess that depends upon who considers whom a "bad guy". When homeland security calls teabaggers extremists, military vetarans possible terrorists and people who dare to disagree with the current administration racist, it leaves the door wide open for interpretation. It does not strike me as the trucker on the road thing so much as the neighbor spying on neighbor.

This is a list of "milestones"
"#4 In the United States today, there are 5,057 janitors with Ph.D.’s, other doctorates, or professional degrees."
"#7 In the United States today, 317,000 waiters and waitresses have college degrees."

This paper reflects the lack of demand for U.S. workers.

Hey Sailman,
Going off here as if you are saving wheat as a seed stock.
If you are thinking of possibly planting that wheat eventually you will want to have a little fungicide on hand. Wheat seed planted without fungicide will rot in the soil if the soil is wet to a certain degree. Fungicide treatment of the seed prolongs it's longevity in the soil and allows it to successfully grow in cases where soil moisture is high and temperature is low(slowing growth).
This document contains many commercially available seed treatment products. I bet they might send you a little sample packet if you contacted one of them. It seems after a little research that anti fungal powder for the treatment of athletes foot may work as an improvised seed treatment. Getting the dose correct... I have no idea and overdosing the seed may cause viability issues...
http://www.plantsci.missouri.edu/cropsy ... t_2002.pdf
BTW wheat is planted at 100 lbs per acre(43,560sqft)(assuming the seed has a germination rate above 90%) in rows separated by 6 inches with seed spacing of roughly 2 inches and at a 1+1/2 to 2 inch depth. Seeds are planted that deep to keep them away from birds and deep enough in the soil so that the seed has moisture to draw to put roots and shoots out until the next rain event comes. Winter wheat is planted in the Fall and Spring wheat is planted in the Spring. How about that! I only know one of each type by sight so I'm not much help there. I'm only familiar with Soft White Winter and Hard Red Spring varieties.
I don't think wheat will be an issue if things go all to hell. The transportation of wheat will. Da Mule will be in big demand and may want to think about getting some other mules together for a plan of action cause... Whew! When it all goes to hell Da Mule is going to be where it is at!
I think beans are a good thing to think about growing. Easy food prep and easier to harvest and thrash by hand than wheat.
If you are not thinking of planting then yeah. Bread tastes good.

we were discussing, the other day, "who" would survive the best, in EOW times........and, came to the conclusion, two groups would "rule":
one, the group of self sufficient, intelligent "tinkerer" types, who can make or fix anything.
the other, homeless, intelligent, "scrounger" types, who can make do with anything
This discounts roving bands of heavily armed gangs, who just take what they need/want, until someone stronger knocks them off.

I'm buying it for bread and flour, bought hard red and white winter wheat. tonight I am ordering a grinder with my bonus check from work Wonder Jr Deluxe
Like I posted earlier, I got some from the LDS, and 4 super pails from Emergency Essentials and I also got some rolled oats and beans. You have to order 200 pds from them to ship, but the s&h is really cheap. I have probably 20+ empty pails that I will fill with a variety in each using mylar bags and O2 absorbers but I really wanted a good cache of wheat before the prices went to high.
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

Sailman, a lot of bakeries use frozen eggs that they buy in food-grade pails. They gave me a couple hundred of them. I just did the dry-ice thing. I bought the Country Living mill because it has a wheel on it with a V-belt. You can always hook it up to a bike or a motor.
ygmir, if you want to get a graphic mental picture of "roving gangs", you should read "Lucifer's Hammer" by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournell. You could also watch "A Boy and His Dog" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072730/
Just be warned.

I don't post things because I believe that they are the absolute truth. I post them because I believe that they should be considered.

Just a note of interest. Wheat stores better than just about anything. The Monks and St. Gregory's monastery in Oklahoma aquired some Egyptian mummies along with the contents of the tombs Back when it was possible to do so. I have eaten bread made from the crops that were grown from the wheat that was found in the tomb. They said that when it was planted about 10% of it was still fertile. The wheat was over 2000 years old!
