CA Voter Minutes: Know the Propositions

Post by Elderberry » Sun Oct 31, 2010 9:43 am

OK Here's a real simple, non-partisan guide to all the propositions on the ballot, presented in short videos explaining the proposition and the pros and cons of each; with links to additional information should it be desired.

Check it out--what have you got to lose?

Don't only vote, vote smart.

very good link, thanks JK.

of course, I vote by mail, and, already have.
this would have saved me time, though.
Didn't change my mind, but, good, concise info, with links for more

Ya, I voted by mail too, weeks ago. Hopefully it will help others that are waiting until election day to cut through all the crap.

Yeah, we already voted too and thanks JK for caring enough to post the link.

It just grinds me that they want to use money from vehicle registrations to fund state parks when FIFTY-PERCENT of the money state parks take at the gate is turned over to the general fund! I say it is another layer of bureaucracy to make it even more difficult to own personal transportation and fund something that SHOULD be self supporting to begin with! If they want money for parks, give them the $$ they already bring in and use transportation money where it belongs!

It is my understanding that 100% of the money from prop 21 goes to the parks. In addition, those that pay the fees will not have to pay any additional entry fee to the parks. (FWIW)

I wasn't aware that 50% of park fees were appropriated to the general fund.

yeah, sounds like more shennanigans......courtesy of Sacramento politicians.

I'm against ANY new tax, or fee.........

make 'em spend wisely, cut fat and oust corruption (that'd be on us, the voters),
and, be transparent in what happens.

of course, I know I'm dreaming........but, as voters, I think we can hold their feet to the fire, if, we don't take the crap. If they get voted out, for waste and corruption, at some point, they'll quit it.........or get so good at it, we won't know anyway.

After more than thirty years of cutting fat, we've been cut to the bone.

(Yeah, I know that not everyone agrees. I so don't want to argue.)

thing is, we all have our "ax to grind".............
and, if something is especially important to an individual, of course, that particular thing needs support, in their eyes.
And, no fault for that.

I do see, many, many areas of gov. that are pure waste, though.
I think we can all agree it exists.

I guess, the issue is agreeing what is waste, and what is necessary.

Oh my goodness, how did I ever miss that thread. I'll have to start reading it from the beginning--something tells me I'll have something to say on the topic. ;)
