I am looking to have my cerimony at burning man this year on Friday Sept 3 and I need some advice.

There's a whole section on the Burning Man Web Page about getting married on the playa. Just go to Burningman.Com and search for Wedding.
“We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.”

I know of a couple that wanted to get married at BM. they wanted to ceramony on the playa but then wanted to get an actual marriage license but some town in NV. they posted on the pilot email list [email protected] for someone to fly them to the town for the license and back. many pilots (including myself) offered to help them.

Princesa, is there anything in particular that you want advice about?
If you have questions that the "Getting Married At BurningMan" link does not answer, this is a good place to ask. However, it would be helpful to know what advice you seek. I am frighteningly experienced* around weddings, so i may have suggestions for you...
Congratulations and all best wishes to you!

That saying "Three times a bridesmaid, never a bride"? I didn't heat that until after my 5th bridesmaid stint...

Oh poof! Just a lot of wisecracks!
Some serious questions:
1) What to do about a bouquet. Can't go with real flowers, too moopy. Ditto silk. I'm considering an arrangement of glow sticks!
2) How drunk should the officient be--and past a 12-pack? (or a six pack of good beer, or a bottle of liquor) and what is the couple's responcibility for inducing it? (Okay, that 's a little wisecracky.)
3) Dress? Probably forgo a full train. Some art car will run over it. That still leaves you with an array of choices. Sarong? Pants? No pants? Full nudity? Body paint? Khaki torn from a drunk ranger? (Extra points if "he" is your officiant.)
4) If I write my own vows, should they follow the theme? Only if it speaks to you. Adapting or quoting Larry's dense prose is to be avoided.
5) Make sure your professional photographer is properly liscenced to take pictures on the playa.
6) Go with the plaster of paris cake--it may not be edible, but it will look pretty.
7) Make sure any fire arts performances are cleared with ESD and other appropriate departments.
Have fun.

Hi! I am Affinity the wedding coordinator for BM. I would be happy to answer any specific questions you have.
Here is some info regarding paper flowers. I made paper flowers for my wedding @ BM from a kit at Martha Stewart. I believe the instructions are also in an issue of her magazine which can be accessed online.
Of course you can also buy paper flowers..
