I grew up in Tahoe, as did I raise my children for most of their lives there...I was always the MOM to all my oldest daughters friends so they pinned me Pinemom, mom of the tree's and the children playing under them.

Im now trying to shorten that to JUST, PINEY, as I used to be the mom of the teens of the tree's now...Im just your friend...all the children have grown up....

So what is your playa name and how did you get it? Inquiering minds want to know!

It's Elderberry.

Before I explain the story, you need to know that I have always the oldest person in our camp.

So one day, out on open playa, we were just wandering around in a drunken drug induced trance looking at all the lights, taking in the sounds, etc. and then, for some reason that escapes me now, everybody started talking about pies. Then someone else asked if you could be a pie what pie would you be...and then someone else yelled out "John would be "Elderberry"" and we all just broke into hysterical laughter; and the name stuck. (I'm sure my partner would relate that story a bit differently.)

It's one of those stories that you really had to be there to appreciate; as are so many experiences on the playa. Words never seem to do them justice.

J is the first letter of my first name.

Step is the first four letters of my last name.

It's a common formula, but I think it sounds kewl anyway. My friends and loved ones do call me J-Step in real life so I didn't make it up.

my parents were going to name me Daphna Gay. The nurse (in a very russian accent) says no, no, no, don't do thez to thez poor little baby. tamara, tamara is very gut name. taMARa, not TAMara. like a texan saying tomorrow.

I've had many names on the internet. Shroom & shroomfairy have stuck with me the longest.

I love fairies and shrooms. Haven't tried shrooms yet, honest! I live in an area of woods where many mushrooms pop up after it rains, and I love to take pictures of them. I've always thought they were lovely.

I got a lot of smiles from people on the playa last year when they asked my name.

I have 2 nick names jerroc and jello got both in 1997. Jello is from my younger candykid raver days. I always brought jello for all the Etards. And the name I have now is a given dj name. just don't use jello anymore I don't dj anymore either but use the name anyway.

It was BM 2008 at the BWB burn pit with Karine, LeChat, Bump and Mozy drinking whiskey and feeling frisky.

i screwed my right shoulder up snowboarding and skateboarding,,, had it all wired up..., then i got in a car wreck and destroyed my right leg., had a few titanium bars installed and a few skin graphs..... went to the georgia burn and thought it would be ironic to call myself "Lefty" but on burn night when i was feeling it and met a group of cuties they thought i said "lucky" which at the time seemed more fitting.., so i rolled with it.
