Your starting early enough.

Start putting all you change in a jar for the trip.

People come from world wide so you should be able to make it.

Read the Q&A and tips and tricks thread and your questions will be answered.

Welcome. :)

Welcome! Are plenty of florida burners, that may help you out. Do your homework, and keep planning! No matter how confounding it gets. People make it from Australia, Israel, Germany, UK, etc... If you come prepared, it will be worth all the work!
anything worth doing is worth overdoing..

Hi Stephanie,

I think the single most important thing is to make the commitment to go in your mind. Everything else falls in line from that point. You'll figure out a way to get there!

Read, and then re-read the survival guide, etc., etc. until you know it by instinct and you'll be fine.

Welcome! It will be my first burn myself and I am also in Florida.

I have recieved a lot of great ideas and info on here but i would suggest start reading all the material on the main site first. That is what i did and then i just asked question here to fill in the blanks.

Anyway, welcome again and hope to see you at the burn.

Well, the "least inexpensive way" would be to charter or buy a private jet and land right at the BRC airport where your chauffeur meets you in your very own Escalade. He will then transport you to your custom-built apartment made out of shipping containers.

Welcome...there are many ways to enjoy burning man, none set in stone...except for being prepared...food, water and gear (gear is generally camping and proper cool n warm weather clothing, stuff like that and you can re-use it)

It's obivious you cannot afford an RV etc and you honestly stated that...do NOT be intimidated by snark here. I'ts rude and a joke, a bad joke at that on a welcome thread...ok let's move on...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Try to buy your ticket on Jan 19th, first lowest pricing (everyone does not make 6 figures, or more :roll: )
The tickets are sold in tiers (there's also a scholarship ticket program you can look into) the tiers and such are on the burning man web site.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I strongly suggest you go to the main BM web page and sign up for your regionals announce lsit (and a discussion list if they offer that also)

You do NOT need to have attended the event to join BM sanctioned regionals...there is usually a tribe leader and there will be burners you can meet and become freinds with.
In addition the announcemnts can be loaded with great info; calendars and such...events, fundraisers, classes, plays, performances and probably a regional "burn"

I think driving from Florida would be best if you car pool, making that drive alone would be exhausting and hopefully through one of the above mentioned resources there will most likely be some sort of bus, car load, something...it's greener and thrifty...something a young person full of adventure would appreciate (eplaya will also possibly have some sort of ride share closer to the date of the event from Florida or at least from the Reno airport if you fly in)

eplaya's Q+A, tips n tricks and many, many other www pages offer FREE advice to the NON rich burner...use these resoucres, they are there for you and the community 8)

I hope this advice helps and I hope you are able to make some regional contacts. You might also try PM's to other eplyans from Florida...they may be looking to car pool and may also have valuable advice they will be able to share with you.

I hope this advice helps you and I hope more helpful suggestions follow this post on your welcome thread ~:D~

EDITED; STEAPHANIE, YOU STATED YOU WANTED THE LEAST INEXPENSIVE WAY, DOH! HENCE MY COMMENTS ON WEALTH, THRIFT AND SNARK..I AM SURE YOU MEANT THE LEAST EXPENSIVE WAY. HAHAHA...EITHER WAY, SOMEONE WILL READ THIS AND FIND IT USEFUL.
I'M LEAVING IT UP FOR THE LAUGH FACTOR FOR THE COMMUNITY AND ALSO THE USEFUL FACTOR FOR YOU AND OTHERS IN SIMILAR SITUATIONS.
IT'S LATE AND THERE'S A PILLOW YELLING MY NAME! *FACEPLANT*
I'm the MAN in a truck, burner who is stuck, you're in luck! I'll whip out my BIG tow chain and not charge you, not even one lousy buck!
