Starting from Zero can be fun too!

Post by delle » Mon Nov 08, 2010 2:31 pm

I'm just an old broad who likes to burn stuff. Interesting stuff. Big stuff.

I'm also quite fond of people. All kinds of people.

Tho I've been intrigued by and drawn to the whole idea of BM for years, I never thought I'd get there. My life is too mundane and structured of late. Just doing the day to day is starting to get to me. I'm dying a slow and hardly noticeable uniformed death of boredom by day - boredom by night.

Something’s gotta give!!!! Shit’s gotta CHANGE!!!

This became most abundantly clear on Hallowe’en when I strolled into the bar with my blanket crudely tied around my neck, looking like my makeup had been applied by a schizophrenic drive-by. A Barbie hung by her hair from my utility belt, with a bottle of lighter fluid nestled next to her.

That my triumphant stance and loud announcement that “I’d dressed MYSELF today!!!â€
Worry is a misuse of imagination

She had blue skin, And so did he.
He kept it hid And so did she.
They searched for blue Their whole life through,
Then passed right by- And never knew.”

Hey delle, from one old broad to another, I must say I couldn't have written it better. I feel the same way! Next year will be my first year too!

Read up on all you can! watch the videos!! I feel welcomed already by this wonderful group in here! So if I may extend a warm welcome, even though I have yet to Burn, welcome to the family!
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

You know Delle, anybody who would dress herself with Barbie should at least inquire whether or not she (or he, as the case may be) should hang out at Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro (only the best and most well-known theme camp at TTITD). Seems we might be able to squeeze you in somehow. Just sayin'. PM me if interested.

This is, without a doubt, one of the most coveted invitations on the playa. Congratulations and welcome! (Just be careful for the back of that RV - there is a reason there is no black light back there).

Edited to include: Come and tie one on some afternoon with some other old broads at Jungle Camp - we would be delighted to indulge your inner burner.

How terribly uncouth. One typo on the whole damned thread, and it has to be a new friend's name!!

I'm so ashamed!

So sorry, Mojojita.

(and to add insult to injury I have to doublepost to achieve this apology, because I don't yet understand the edit function. Does one just tack on an addendum and the system knows to label it an edit, or can one actually overwrite the error?)

No worries about name spelling, I was Mojo for years until eplaya hiccuped and has never since let me log on with my old name.

You may certainly dress, (or not), as you wish. So far, it sounds like you have a great knack for costumes. I particularly liked the "period" wear. There are lots of things I do pretty well but costuming is just not one of them.

Where will you be camped?

Good Lord, you people are great greeters!!! I feel all fuzzy inside. (hopefully not having to do with having inhaled too much faux fur residue from what I picked up today. If I cough up a hairball, I'll let you know. For now I'm putting it all down to you all!!!)

I don't know yet. My nephew & co. are in charge of all of that. He's old hand, I'm just a dragalong (not exactly kicking and screaming tho, as you can tell). I'll let you know as soon as I find out!!! :D

Well, ....... speaking of Greeters, don't forget to give your Greeter some love when you come through the Greeter's station...a cold drink, a big hug, and giving up your playa virginity! Maybe even to ibdave.... who (if he is there next year) may even be your actual on-playa Greeter!
