Question: Although I was not present at the MnG (because I was on the Kinetic Treasure Hunt), I was the one who brought the piano.
Now... I realize that this piano had gone horribly out of tune by that day. It also had a couple of mechanical problems.
But my other piano (which stayed in Kantina Apokiliptika the whole week), proved to hold its tune much better. So my question is: Should I plan on bringing a (hopefully better) piano to the 2011 MnG, or is it not worth the trouble?
No promises, but I like having goals to aim for.
The woman on the right was sort of confused about her identity, sort of a missing eplayan soup. She kept insisting she had made the pink dragon hat I was wearing. I humored her with profuse praise for her creativity.ygmir wrote:uh.......then I was lusting after a specter, again..........or ogling Tokens boobs.C.f.M. wrote:I wish I'd been able to make it - but I'm glad Token, Casanova and Gyre did.

Elliot, on our wish list for 2011 will be a piano, because it was just so cool. And we would hope that it be at least remotely in tune. If we cannot lay our hands on one by July, then by all means bring it out. There's nothing quite like a bunch of ePlayans (each in their own key of course) singing Poisoning Pigeons In The Park.

When I saw you had posted here, Elorrum, I was hoping you'd posted some of the famous Doc Pyro/Sparklepony photos that have rumors flying.
Oh well, the other shot was nice.

Yes, that particular piano went alarmingly out of tune, and I failed to catch up with Oscillator to tune it. Strange thing is, it came back to better tune by itself by the end of the week. Might have been the rain -- it did get rained on, then dried thru the week. But that piano also needed daily mechanical repair, so it is not coming back to the Playa. I have several others.
You can pick up free pianos all day long on the Bay Area Craigslist. That's what I did. But most will need some mechanical repair. And then only experience will show which ones are really any good. Seems I got one out of two the first year. Bay Bridge Sue loved the other one, in her Kantina.
I scrapped the Big Piano Boat project -- just too large of a project for me. I get carried away sometimes. But now that I have a golf cart MV, I'm thinking I can put a spinet (small piano) on that, and I do have two spinets.
I also have an almost new Baby Grand, but I have not set it up to try it out yet. It's a salvage job, of course, but it looks... uh... sound.

It was a pleasure once again this year to meet and hang out with so many of you folks! Thanks to Doc for his excellent and hospitable hosting!! It's one of my favorite playa events!
A plan is what you vary from.
Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

Misa, go to our website www.barbiedeathcamp.com and click on the photos. The Flickr group for this year is up. On the second page (at least on my computer) there are a few shots of the M&G. On the first page (IMGP0913_0100) is a nice shot of you with Renee and Lee. I think Mike edited the pictures to leave out most of nudity. Time to get a new webmaster methinks. And GerlachNLoaded, if there's a picture of you anywhere it likely would be in that mix as well.
