Bringing the East Coast Love - Nova Scotians' do Burn '11

Post by Lover » Wed Nov 10, 2010 2:28 pm

Its my first time so be gentle !!

Super stoked to FINALLY make it out to Burning Man this year.
Originally from Nova Scotia - living in Calgary myself, and my best gal pal will be heading out after Shambhala!

We are super pumped and could use all of your love, and help to prepare to have the best Burning Man we can.

We love to love, and we would love to meet you!
Can't wait to have a chat my dears!!!

(the great part is - it will be my BIRTHDAY!!)
And here you are hurried,
And here you are gone;
And here is the love,
That it's all built upon.
May everyone live,
And may everyone die.
Hello, my love,
And my love, Goodbye

Hiya Lover!

From Québec myself. We should try to cross paths once there, hang by a post and smoke cigarettes speaking french to all who pass by. (hoping you're one of those NS'rs with the good ole Acadian vernacular.... I just LOVE that shit! We can teach each other naughty phrases.) I'll provide the berets.

It'll be my first burn as well. My darling partner in crime and I have wanted to do this for so long.... it's really pathetic that we never before really thought it could be achieved, because it now appears that once the decision is firmly made, things just start to work themselves out.

Anyhow, I'm the least qualified to tell you anything about any of this, except maybe to say that these people are amazing, and that everything you (and I) need to learn -- and there's a shitload of it -- is right here, or soon-to-be for the asking.

So Bienvenue!!! and Enjoy!! :D
Worry is a misuse of imagination

She had blue skin, And so did he.
He kept it hid And so did she.
They searched for blue Their whole life through,
Then passed right by- And never knew.”

Canadian Bacon is just back bacon - thin slices of meat cut from the more meaty and less fatty portion of the pig, his back!

Im vegetarian though -

Unless you were asking about John Candy's film Canadian Bacon - in which case..funny as all get out.

Awe - Im glad you all think Canadians are cute!
Look for the white fluffy bunny hat and that will be me!! :)

I like the poem you have posted...
Lover is a general term of endearment in the East ;)

The poem is a Leonard Cohen poem called "Here it is". Tragic, amazing, beautiful and oozes love.

Here is your crown
And your seal and rings;
And here is your love
For all things.

Here is your cart,
And your cardboard and piss;
And here is your love
For all of this.

May everyone live,
And may everyone die.
Hello, my love,
And my love, Goodbye.

Here is your wine,
And your drunken fall;
And here is your love.
Your love for it all.

Here is your sickness.
Your bed and your pan;
And here is your love
For the woman, the man.

May everyone live,
And may everyone die.
Hello, my love,
And, my love, Goodbye.

And here is the night,
The night has begun;
And here is your death
In the heart of your son.

And here is the dawn,
(Until death do us part);
And here is your death,
In your daughter's heart.

May everyone live,
And may everyone die.
Hello, my love,
And, my love, Goodbye.

And here you are hurried,
And here you are gone;
And here is the love,
That it's all built upon.

Here is your cross,
Your nails and your hill;
And here is your love,
That lists where it will

May everyone live,
And may everyone die.
Hello, my love,
And my love, Goodbye.
- Leonard Cohen
