HI GUYS!!!
You are not clever.
You are not avant-garde.
You are not ethically superior.
You are not intelligent.
You are not unique.
You are not self-assured.
What you retarded hippies are, however, is a collection of useless, hypocritical, delusional, and irrational faggots who think that getting high on drugs and wearing strange clothes in the desert somehow elevates you above the rest of the members of society -- the same others that you ironically criticize and discriminate against based on accusations of intolerance and blind conformity.
Realistically, you all hate projections of yourselves. Also realistically, noone can blame you for the sentiment.

I was just about to go to bed before making my introductory post, and just save it for tomorrow after spending the last several hours looking up information on what BM and BRC are about and the experiences they provide for people of all walks and ranges of life. But your post inspired me.
I hope you're okay. If you're that mad at a bunch of people you've never met that devote themselves to community values and open-mindedness then you must have a lot of negativity in your life, and I know what that's like. But I have to work at 8 a.m. and I've done nothing but look up testimonies and videos and pictures and information on what this is about, and I can tell you it is not about discriminating, criticizing, conformity or intolerance. Least of all hate.
Much love to you, and to all the rest of the burners I will get to meet in the near future. Here's some thoughts from minds far greater than mine.
"There is no sadder sight than a young pessimist." -Mark Twain
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." -Friedrich Nietzsche

Welcome. Thanks for posting the obvious. Do you know the Jizzmeister? I thought you two sat together in homeroom.
Obviously Butthole, you wanted a response. Too bad you got a rookie on the hook right off. The old hands are already chuckling and rubbing their hands in glee, anticipation in their hearts. Or reaching for the plonk button, which is more sensible.
Fuck yer day.
Tifya, hang around and eventually you'll get my reply. Welcome.

Welcome buttholesandwich! I hope you don't find us all too anal about certain things. I know there is a lot of crap spewed in here but for the most part it's all in good fun. No shit! But sometimes the sphincter police, such as yourself, come in and tries to point out how people, such as yourself, could possibly perceive us.
I have a quote from Colin Powell that reads, "Experts often possess more data than judgment". So don't judge people unless you have the proper data to back up your "opinion" of anyone. You have constipation of the brain and diarrhea of the mouth. And I have tha data to back up my statement, so unless you have a BM experience, try not to look down on anyone.
heeheehee did you see the theme of my post??

Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

If it's Simon boijoy, then great laugh...
~If otherwise, you have no idea what a collection of "we" accomplish on and off of TTITD~
I'm the MAN in a truck, burner who is stuck, you're in luck! I'll whip out my BIG tow chain and not charge you, not even one lousy buck!
Who is more stupid? I don't think I met that one, yet.buttholesandwich wrote:Jesus Christ, you guys are even fucking more stupid than I originally anticipated.

The OP brings up some very good points. The perception of burners to people who have never been to BRC.
I have been dealing with this type of reaction for many years when I am in public with some amazing eye-popping art on wheels. Most of the general public can't quite grasp the concept of standing out with creativity. What I mostly see is one dimentional people, who must shop, dress, act and look like everyone else to try to fit in. I guess this is a saftey thing if you blend in with everyone else. Designer logos on shirts really helps this image (and don't forget the Justin Beiber haircut).
My favorite line from one of these dullards is "you must have a lot of time on your hands". I used to get defensive, but now I am just humored by this. I have asked them if they have ever done anything creative, and get nothing but mumbles and an annoyed look.
Yes, the OP is part of the "gotta fit in" segment of the population, but I clearly understand the mentality. Got to fit in and not draw any attention. It's nice and safe!
May I suggest a new and (possibly) more appropriate name for this person?

We'll come on up. The Texans from this year have promised us that they will be bringing a bigger contingent and a full fledged Texas Embassy.drucake wrote:Ive always wanted to go to Lakes of Fire!

OP stands for Original Poster in a thread. In this case it's Buttholesandwich, which some people are guessing is a "sock" or "sock puppet". In case you're not familiar with that term, it's a user ID created by someone who already posts on the site, using the new ID as a pretend character.maryanimal wrote:ok, so what does OP stand for? Excuse my lameness! And Sham, I liked your observation of our newest member! Wouldn't WheatBreadSandwich be a healthier choice?

Well, maybe, but Wheat Bread in not bland enough for Mr. White Bread. Think, plain, dry, boring and lacking any depth or color. Wheat bread tends to have some texture and taste.maryanimal wrote:And Sham, I liked your observation of our newest member! Wouldn't WheatBreadSandwich be a healthier choice?

If the sock is clever enough, they can hide from my prying moderator eyes. This one may be, or could be a generic troll who wants to get a rise out of the dirty hippies. Which is why one should never take this sort of thing seriously. Only posted for a reaction. Some will keep replying, any attention feeds their ego and imagination as witty and more intelligent. Some make a splash, get bored when we aren't outraged, and never post again.
I don't think anger is the root here, rather a desire to feel superior. Meh. Been there done that at least a dozen times.
Have fun kids, just don't set the cat on fire or do anything to frighten the horses.
