Happy Birthday LSD-25
Happy Birthday LSD-25
Well, it's tomorrow but I won't be online most of tomorrow, so I'll post it now.
Happy Birthday to a very special Lysergic Acid derivative.

Oh cheers indeed!
To the epiphanies that stuck with us after the visible auras left, and to the the lowering of the walls. To the opening of the third eye from that first long sleep to the constant reminder of the sharpness and vivacity of life. To allowing us to understand and experience life anew within old memories and the genesis new thoughts, new music, new emotions, new perspectives and new beginnings. To letting us conceptualize flying in the form of a prismatic primordial cosmic dragon across the nether regions of the cosmos, and giving us the insights into what that beast might think if you could call it thinking.
To 25 more years, and 25,000 afterwards!

Ok, I thought this was common knowledge, but I guess I'm more geeky than I thought.
LSD-25 is the chemical Lysergic Acid derivative that Albert Hoffman discovered, in 1938. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LSD-25

LOL, this is high-larry-ous. LSD-25 is the same LSD you stopped using 26 years ago, it's the psychedelic chemical discovered in Switzerland by Albert Hoffman on 11/16 in 1938. I know it's well over 25 years old, ya geriatric tripper. Jeez, old people these days...pinemom wrote:Thread post topic

Makes you wonder what else it out there.
Ever wonder about the Sandoz research nixon stopped?
I'm one of the very tiny percentage that hallucinate from cycloepinephrine, full motion and visual too.
This is a drug that came from the Sandoz research.
It was given to me after an accident and saved my eyesight as a teenager.
Who knows how many lives the research might save?
I have a friend struggling to raise $50,000 to get to germany for eye treatment not available in the usa, thanks to stim cell research stopping here, and setting the usa years behind other countries.
Turns out it's hard for a blind guy to make enough cash.
I wonder...

Fact: Bill Wilson, founder of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) & his wife Lois Wilson experimented with LSD in the 1950's. He believed LSD-25 was quite possibly a "cure" for alcoholism. I'm not kidding, it's true. If you google "bill wilson and lsd" you get 51,000 results. Here's one site/cite with an excerpt below it that I find oooooh-sooooo amusing...
http://www.moderndrunkardmagazine.com/i ... -piper.htm
One of his therapeutic journeys lead him to Trabuco College in California, and the friendship of the college’s founder, Aldous Huxley. The author of Brave New World and The Doors of Perception introduced Wilson to LSD-25. The drug rocked Wilson’s world. He thought of it as something of a miracle substance and continued taking it well into the ‘60s. As he approached his 70th birthday, he developed a plan to have LSD distributed at all AA meetings nationwide. The plan was eventually quashed by more rational voices, and a few years later the Federal government made the point moot by making the drug illegal. (That Wilson’s plan was shot down is probably fortunate. LSD is a beautiful thing, but nothing sounds more horrifying to me than a roomful of chain-smoking, frightened, needy drunks tripping their heads off in the basement of the local Y.)

There were other researchers doing clinical studies, so I read. A few still advocating I believe.

About 12 years ago Owsley started a website. I think he was living in Fairfield, CA and at first the site was great and he was having fun with it, then he started getting threats and hate mail. On his site he told how it was Melissa Cargill who really was the person who made the acid. Owsley just was friends with the band so it was easy to market the acid at the dead concerts. Scoring in the parking lot of a dead concert was a given!
