Have Dome--Need Camp

Post by liminalabilis » Fri Jul 09, 2004 4:13 pm

We two (one 4th year & one newbie) seek quiet sort of smart arty loungy types who want a little help but are loosely affiliated (no micro fascism)and who see BM as a mindaltering art fest rather than a drinking fest (not that debauchery is terrible, but we'd like to sleep and enjoy meals too...). Cuddly 30's couple with a 24' dome and rugs and pillows etc and cooking skills to offer. We can be completely self sustaining except for a generator but want to team up, trusting cyber-fate to supply the perfect companions...
No better theory is available to answer it. No other theory highlights the problem so well.

Have water...in search of shade !!!!!

Post by nocturnal_steve » Sat Jul 10, 2004 2:08 pm

Hi Liminalabilis

This 40ish 7th time burner and (newbie) girl-friend are seeking like minded small group to share resources and to burn with. Self sufficient, low impact. I am out of Santa Barbara, she just got back from living for 6 years in Belize. I will (again) be driving my 1965 Plymouth and small open trailer with gear including two 50 Gallon food grade plastic drums that I fill up with water in Gerlach....would provide ample water including luxurious showers/shampoos for 5 or 6 of us. As of yet we don't have a "home" nor shade structure... this could be a good match...could share spontaneous meals, chores, ice runs, stories...? ! Where are you coming from, what is your ETA? Are you vegans, vegetarians, carnivores, keep kosher or other ? I eat everything but small children and adults bigger than myself. You can e-mail me [email protected]
Stay hydrated my friend.

I want y'all to join Camp Israel

Post by lizwiz » Sat Jul 10, 2004 3:19 pm

Hi Y'all!
Y'all would be a great addition to our camp. We are actually in search of a shade structure and burners that are able to give to our camp. Our camp is a drama free zone. My fiance (26 year old second year burner) and I (23 year old fourth year burner) are currenty substance free. We are setting up a community kitchen where members of the camp volunteer in advance to be responsible for a meal. We have a large amount of participatory activities planned for the camp to keep us stimulated and giving. Burning Man has definitely been a mind altering experience for me for the last 3 years. I have had many mystical and spiritual experiences there. I want to create a positive environment for camp members and participants. We are arriving on August 30th and departing September 6th. Yuval and I keep kosher. In general, we eat vegeterian unless we find kosher meat. We both love art and view burning man as the most incredible art festival in the whole world. Our camp is going to be amazing. We want to have a Camp Shower set up.

Greetings!

I have an ad-hoc low key camp that I am setting up with my companions (2 24 y/o 2nd time burners, 1 19 y/o 1st year burner.) Since we have ample extra space, water, and power from a large (but noise cushioned) generator we are setting up a "Playa natural-disaster refugee camp." The theory is that if your tent decides it would rather be a kite in the 75 mile an hour wind, you shouldn't find yourself drafted into the "Macarena Goth Shave-And-Release-Gerbil" camp just for shelter :-)

Let us know if you are interested-- we are activity minded but easygoing. To answer your question: We are carnivores as well - though I seem to remember going home with a lot of food after what amounted to a 7 day fast last year due to appetite loss!

Let me know! I'd like to get some handle on what the camp will look like before the end of the month.

Still looking?

Hola,

This will be my 5th Burn and my friend Dina's first. We may have two other girls with us, not sure yet. Dina and I are cool, mostly mello (will drink and will partake in other things), very friendly folks. We're not boyfriend-girfriend, just good friends. I can cook... We can both build things... Have extra supplies we can haul up if necessary... We can contribute a little financially too, if necessary.

I've been a part of major theme camps three times and would rather do a smaller, more intimate camp of 10 to 15 people. Theme isn't as important to me as drama-free and fun. That being said, I'd love to host a small evening bar type thing for neighbors if anyone would be into that...

Drop me a note here email me.

Looking for a camp to join

Post by Danger » Sun Aug 22, 2004 12:04 am

Hello all, 36 yr old 5th time burner heading out to BRC solo this year and would like to find a mellow and cool camp to stay with. I have a 20' dome to share. I'll eat the fish and birds but stay away from red meat. If you have space for a dome and would like to share camp with a easy going guy looking to meet lots of interesting people and refill his inspiration tank then drop me a line.
