Soldier vs HP
I had to post thread about this soldier.

Firstly I found it hilarious, secondly I found it frustrating that HP had the balls to say he had to pay for their services considering were he was. I wonder if the soldier was talking to an "overseas" representative. However, my thoughts on this remain the same. I'll never purchase HP products until they correct their effrontery towards this soldier who puts his life on the line everyday for us!
God Bless our men and women serving our country, past and present!

Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

There is another video that says that HP "reached out" to this customer and resolved the issue. Which probably means they sent him a new printer. They also state that they now give free Telephone support to soldiers who are overseas. While the video was undoubtedly the determining factor on that, it may have also been a oversight on their part. I'm sure that no-one even thought about what they would do if a soldier in Iraq called in until it actually happened. So when a call did come in it was some tech in India or the Philippines who took the call and made the decision.
HP like most other companies does have a chat line for support that is free, in or out of warranty. My experience with the chat lines has all been negative however. YMMV

Years ago, I got a messed up scanner refunded after losing the verbal argument on round one.jkisha wrote:LOL If they think HP support is bad, my only hope is that they aren't trying to use QuickBooks for their accounting!

round two; I nailed the scanner to a dead tree (with the biggest longest nail the hardware store sold, it was huge), the tree is located where 15,000 cars drive slowy by almost daily. With the nailed up scanner I simply posted a notice telling the truth (the truth is so POWERFUL, duh. Btw, others had done this with "lemon products" over the years on this same dead tree, it was my turn I suppose, the
I sent the company a photo of the protest, via email and snail mail, with a request for a refund, they asked me to remove the demostration and if I did they would give me a refund.
Ok, I took it down and I bought a different scanner with the refund. Problem solved, no bullets.

Btw, I still need a burn barrel, I'll probably use a cutting torch...I think bullets cost too much and I might piss off the neighbors if I try the bullet method.

I pay the extra warranty sometimes, it helps with most issues...they tend to not charge me right off the bat.Box Burner wrote:There is another video that says that HP "reached out" to this customer and resolved the issue. On a happier note, I sure could use a burn barrel, maybe if I bring a nice new 33 gallon size (do they make them in that smaller size?) to 4th of Juplaya I could get one shot up, eh?
Draw some happy faces and see how they turn out?
OR
Just go for the random look, free form bullet hole patterns.
Maybe bring two, if they are cheap n easy to find (sorta like the attractive gal at Reno decomp who struck up a conversation with me all about how she got to go to 4th of Juplaya and shoot a LOT of guns! She was't cheap nor easy, she was classy... I couldn't resist kidding around...it was a very pleasant conversation, alllllll about guns and shooting, interesting, my mother would be proud)

I dont have a torch either, so I used a hand grinder with a narrow cutting blade to make my burn barrel.
The metal is thin enough to cut pretty easily.
You can get creative with the cuts.
Make sure get some cuts close to the bottom so everything burns to ashes.

Oh, good info. I could try that method.FIGJAM wrote:I dont have a torch either, so I used a hand grinder with a narrow cutting blade to make my burn barrel.

I was concerned about doing it right and if holes go in the bottom or not (all the ones I saw I forgot to ask, I just watched the fire and checked out the designs patterns, except the bottom, duh!)
