Fly The Friendly Skys With A Kilt...

Post by Rabbi Dali Rick » Mon Nov 29, 2010 12:57 pm

There is a movement to start flying with a kilt and no underwear. When they check your junk, they really must touch your junk, interesting.

Don't know about the rest of you that wear kilts but the prospect of sitting on a plane for hours in my kilt is not a pleasant thought. Eight yards of wool is not something you want to sit in for any length of time.
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

Two words: inappropriate underwear. MyLarry has decided his ruffled lace black and red pettipants are comfy enough to wear under his utilikilt for hours, and strange enough to weird out the pat down person. Utilikilts have enough metal on them to guarantee a pat down.

The kilt can be neatly folded and placed in the overhead bin, for safe traveling. A cocktail napkin (no joke intended, I swear) can be placed on the travelers privates for the flight. (one imprinted with "Fly the Friendly Skies")

Bonn Scott used to hang a pair of bass beaters under his kilt.

They do make 5 and 6 yard kilts...and if its well made, the pleats should hold up for a couple hour flight.

What if they don't do pat downs anymore?
I don't post things because I believe that they are the absolute truth. I post them because I believe that they should be considered.

I fly kilted all the time - very very comfortable on long flights. Wear a USA Kilts casual model - no metal. Take off the kilt pin before the TSA gig and put it back on after boarding. That's the short post kilt pins not the long pin ones that would freak out TSA.

Have also flown wearing a Utilikilts Survival. Secret to the metal on a Utilikilt is to go through the metal detector sideways.

Wearing underwear defeats the purpose of wearing a kilt for a comfortable flight.

A couple years ago was flying kilted to Maui. A fine looking young flight attendent did the stewardess squat in the aisle just in front of me to talk with a boy in the seat ahead. She was also looking up my kilt and the sun was coming in the window to enhance her viewing pleasure. When she saw what she wanted she smiled, then twisted towards me and spread her knees to show me that she too, was flying in comfort.

A lovely moment for a guy well over 60 at the time.

I usually wear mine when I fly. Mostly because I usually wear boots with it, and packing all that in a carryon or checked luggage leaves little space for much else.
It's going to be alright.
