What is dubstep?
So I keep hearing about this dubstepping stuff....what the hell is it? Is it like clogging or the 2-step? Is it a form of shuffling off to Buffalo?
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Sort of a drum n bass - trance hybrid, slower tempo than your usual DnB (140 bpm vs 160) with instrumental intros/breaks/outros and vocals.

He's good! I didn't see many dancing that "in tune" probably because they cannot practice to any particular DJ and the play list...not sure though, (Simon would I bet)maryanimal wrote:Awesome! I found this one I liked.

"How to dance the Hippie Dubstep" youtube video, that one is also gooood, hilarious and the kid really does a good performance!
I'll try to find it but if someone beats me to it, please post it!

it's basically heavy bass distorted farting set to a cool beat. like a lot of music most of it is crap but there's some diamonds in the rough. here's a popular song from BM sweetheart Bassnectar:

helps to sell it if you picture a burner hottie dancing to it at Root Society. that's how i got hooked.

One of our friend's dj'ed this Dubstep mix for the group Halloween party. It incorporates vocals from the movie Clockwork Orange since that was his costume

Oh. My. God.
I seriously just laughed until I cried.
..and on another note, let's fucking hope that dubstep is the new AOL and bites it just like they did. I can't stand the stuff, and it's taken over. Just whompy bass that you can't really dance to, just kind of make weird gyrations and feel like your on a bad speedball trip.

TTR, who's gonna do it?
Oh shit, Trance Trance Revolution has to happen! Someone's gotta take that name and run with it. I'd sure be down to go dance at an "all trance all the time" camp.

yeah a lot of people do not like dubstep and I can agree that overly repetitive nonsensical bass is annoying; however, under the right hands you most certainly can dance to the good stuff.junglesmacks wrote:Oh. My. God.
