Gift Scooter

Post by caliban » Tue Dec 07, 2010 12:13 pm

Hello!

We have a scooter, about eight years old, that we would like to gift rather than recycle.

The scooter was in an accident. It's not too terrible, but it has NO TITLE and can not be licensed for the road.

It's a Chinese made scooter, and as such isn't the best build quality. It's a 50cc. It's also been sitting for a few years, so it would probably take more than it's worth to get it running on the road again.

However, a clever burner may be able to get the engine running for a mutant vehicle. And there are great parts available for mutant vehicles and other projects, such as a set of wheels and tires with disc brakes.

Please reply to me here on eplaya if you'd like this scooter gift! You'll need to make some promises as to the final disposition, as the VIN lists us as the last owner, so dumping it in an inappropriate way would really screw us the hell over.

We're located in San Francisco and I have a big work van if delivery is necessary. Gas, grass or ass!

Also I'm part of an artists group that rents a warehouse here in SF, and we have spaces available if you need a place to work on this (or another!) project.

When you say "scooter" you mean gas-operated poor cousin to a motorcycle and not happy transport for the old or crooked crippled, I take it.

Edited as above.

I would love to have your gift scooter. I am interested in the drive section for a project. I am in Oakland and have a shop where I can work on it. It will NOT get dumped and come back and bite you. I will PM my number.
