Did your wishes come true?

Post by Jefferson Starship » Fri Sep 05, 2003 4:41 pm

Perhaps you stopped by the Wellwishers and made a wish in the Wishing Well or made one privately on the open playa. Did your wish(es) come true? Mine did. Despite all the negative experiences that I'm reading all over the message board, it was the wealth of magical moments that will bring me back again next year. Hope you all will return again with a heart full of wishes. Without the negativity, we cannot appreciate the abundant positivity. :)

I received as a gift two wish packages. They were basically burnable blocks of something inside of brown paper. I immediately knew how I would use the first one and threw it into a burn barrel. The second one I waited until the next day, walked to Center Camp, and tossed it in. They both have the same wish: to see Random Chance again soon. I'm still waiting, but the lessons still being learned are probably more valuable due to the passing of time.

Different than expected, but GOOD

Post by CBBR » Tue Sep 09, 2003 4:36 pm

While the One Good Kiss I'd wished for (and eventually received) wasn't motivated by passion and a desire to toss my sneakered feet into the air, I was frozen solid with the intensity of a goodbye/nice to meet you kiss from a man I made some conversation with under the trees at Xara Saturday night after the burn. I choose to believe that his feelings weren't any less authentic because he wasn't gay (and please, nobody tell me "there is no gay on the playa", cause that would just really irritate me plplfffbbblllttt!!!! )

Just a wonderful, heart-felt, moving kiss hello and goodbye.

yes, many of my dreams came true with the help of fellow burners. one night, lost and cold out on the playa and wishing to get home, a stellar soul went well out of his way to make sure i found my street. early in the week my bike went on strike and the scaryintense but helpful souls at the bike shop got me on the road again. i had crazy fun sex with nice people. i danced my ass off to the endless music. some sweet man gave me a fresh melon ball after 18 hours of no food. i discovered i like to rollar dance. there were so many sweet moments. i didn't arrive at brc with a list of wishes but it seemed like whatever i wished for once i was there just happened. oh, and the smiles. it's so fucking NICE to have people smile at you all day long!! thank you to all those burners who made my experience so...ahhhh.

I decided to test the BM spirit of acceptance this year....I tried out my sarongs, my long red hair piece, makeup...maybe I should have visited blyslv's camp first but I did this on my own and then I rode out to the man and tested the reax....and not one person said anything negative to me...in fact I had compliments. My wish was to be totally accepted. And in any state I chose to be in, at BRC, I got my wish. Total Acceptance, no ridicule.

It wasn't my wish but I helped fulfill the last wishes of my best friend Tallinn who passed away 9/17 after sustaining injuries in the WTC collapse on 9/11. Thanks to Kathanika, I used their gift boxes to give away his last pieces of art. He wanted to come to BM but never made it. I got to honor his wishes, and those of his wife and family by bringing his art to BRC. And I gave it away as he wanted. So...yeah, I got one of my wishes, but I also helped many other wishes come true! If anyone from Kathanika reads this, THANK YOU!

Hey Kinetic,

Man, you looked great with eye makeup! No kidding -- it really fits you well. I missed the hairpiece ... I'll look forward to checking that out next year, along with the porn and tequila you were hoarding for DPW. I knew I shoulda crashed that trailer!

I'm glad you were able to fulfill Tallinn's and Kathanika's wishes, as well. Between that, having Dragontear with you, and everything going on at home, it sounds like it was quite a year for you.

Blessings to you, my friend.

Flux, you and Das Bus really made this year special. I hope I get to camp with you in 04.

I made sure DPW was well taken care of...next year I'll just bring more to share.

And it was quite a year. One thing about this year's burn, I got recharged enough that I am ready to tackle things head on again.

My offer still stands, if you need anything or I can help with something just ask.

Kinetic,

Sure thing, bro! We'll be there in '04 and happy to have you!

I'm just yanking your chain about DPW and sharing; you were generous to a fault. Besides, the last thing I needed was any more alcohol or anything else to stimulate my libido -- just ask my wife!

Keep me posted on your plans for the Decompression party. I hope you can make it out! It. Will. Rock.

Now that everyone's had plenty of time to think about it, did any wishes made on the playa come true once you got off it?

My wish was that I had more time to spend out West. Once I left BM on Monday I called home and learned I had 2 extra vacation days that payroll mixed up with someone else...I could use them anytime I needed. I took advantage of that to drive out to SF and spend a day having fun on the GGB and the Marin Headlands before returning home. It had been 21 years since I had been to SF, and at the time I didn't get to cross the bay bridge let alone see the GGB or the Pacific. This time I didn't stop until I was across the GGB and down to one of the beaches in Golden Gate Park....where I finally got to see the Pacific for the first time. So yeah, wishes do come true! I didn't just see the Pacific, I made damn sure I got in it.

I don't know if I would call it a "wish" exactly, but I got what I asked for this year.

After discussing my heartbreak and solace with my friend about not being able to find a soulmate, someone who I could spend the rest of my life with. My friend wanted to know if I had ever "asked" for such a thing. I thought about it and indeed I had not. So I composed my thougths and, right there on the Playa, out loud, in front of my friends, asked the universe for a soulmate. I described what I wanted in a person, without making too many demands on physical attributes, just that I would find her to be attractive and sexually stimulating.

Then just two days later, I found her. We are still seeking a life together (yes, it's only been a few months, but things look promising) and enjoying the process of getting to know each other.

Hey Chai Guy, looks like you are helping my good friend's wish come true. He is constructing the "SixDegreeBurn" site and apparently you signed up for it. Thanks for supporting a fellow burner and a friend of mine who is facing some tough times right now. His site is a project that I know helps keep his mind focused on something he enjoys and desires to share with others.

Love and appreciation,

Similar to Chai Guy I asked for something specifically that I had never really asked for. I wrote it on the Temple wall. And the wish came true.

Yes while riding around this year on an art car we were talking about wishing we had brought some cups, a few minutes later a woman from Happyland ran into the middle of the street and stopped us and gave us two happyland burning man cups! Thank you happyland!!!
I told the guy I was riding with "yet another example of what I call instant manifestion out here on the playa" so we rode off and came to nipple dipping camp and made I his wish come true. :D

I did the same thing but I'll have to wait for election day next year to see if it comes true.

Yet I can't help but laugh and wish you guys well. (at least i'm laughing now) I'm reminded of how in 2001 I read a horoscope that said why not try writing down what you want in a partner and see what happens. Well I wrote four pages and damn if it wasn't him to a t. He even saw the letter i of what I asked for when we we're splitting up and freaked since I met him four months before i wrote it at Burning Man 2001. After 2001 burn we hooked up and he came to live with me for almost a year. Though I was in heaven until one day outta the blue he decided to break it off just a month before burning man because he said he saw a married? couple break up at burning man in 2001 and it got ugly! So I let that go,burned it all way in my way only to return from the burn after not seeing him there when he said he would hook up. My camp mate saw him, neway he freaked from too much drugs at b man screaming fuck god and fuck everybody he was god when he came back to my house after the 2002 burn. needless to say running down the street like this causes unwanted attention and things ended there. I told my good friend and ol sage sufi and shiatsu master. He knew us both well and laughed hysterically. I said what's so funny, how could this be funny? He said he had written many lists in his lifetime like that and they all came true. Then what happend I asked?. He said they all ended disasterously. Why my reply? Cause it's your EGO he said! I had to laugh too.

I made a wish with the miracle network at the burn last year, and it's well on its way to coming true. Someone track me down on Burn night this year and I'll let you know how it went.

It just might be...time will tell.

I wished at the virgin bell, then I had a 'reading' done at the man the night before the burn, and it seemed to confirm my wish. Now a friend has done a tarot reading and there is just more confirmation.

Time will tell, but I'm not telling yet.
