Wheeee

Post by Paydirt » Thu Dec 09, 2010 7:14 am

My friend and I have been driving up from Arizona for four years now (although I had to skip last year due to unfortunate circumstance) We did volunteer work one year for exodus and perimeter and plan on doing it again this year - it was a blast!
I'm not excactly a "people person" but the sheer unrepentant silliness, occasional jaw dropping beauty and the happy bunch of folks who attend restores my faith in the human race! Certainly gives my mind something to chew on for a while.........
The trip to and from is an adventure in itself....we always wind up lost in the high desert in the most improbable situations! Looking foreward to seeing yall in 2011.

Sounds like fun...I got lost in a flash flood and lightning storm in Zona...

~the bolts became sheets and ribbons of white fire as wide as a house~

~After the bolts started closing in, I drove us all towards the nearest
(& only) light and the rancher/ranger set us up in the bunkhouse, phew! Rubber tires saved our lives~

The land, after a rainstorm in Airzona glimmered and had (no lie here ) an Aura of many colors, for real!...it was from the minerals being washed clean and the sunlight reflecting off of them...The Hopis explained it, hahaha, don't ask how (or why!) but I was sleeping on the cheif's rooftop back in those days~

Welcome to the Zone, BRC, Nevada circa 2010/11. We have rainbows and a little dust
I'm the MAN in a truck, burner who is stuck, you're in luck! I'll whip out my BIG tow chain and not charge you, not even one lousy buck!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I like your truck Moonrise!
I was once swept into the San Pedro in a raging flash flood when the banks of the river collapsed under me.It was funny but my only thoughts were that the 12 toads in my backpack were going to drown. I washed up on the other side but my friend was trapped and had to spend the night curled up under a tree in the pouring rain. LOVE monsoon season! And the rainbows, duststorms and the awesome silence of the high desert (well, silent for 51 weeks of the year anyway!]
