Cheese and Pants Theatre

Post by girlie » Wed Sep 10, 2003 2:26 am

Thank You Cheese and Pants Theatre!

Thursday night, in the center of gigsville -- naked opera had just finished, the canadian beaver eating contest was starting and the island of misfits strippers next door was preparing to open. Then a large box of parmesan cheese and a giant pair of pants stepped onto the stage.

Fuckin' brilliant show. Thank you so very much.

Too many 'Thank Yous' to list them all, but there are two special ones regarding my daughter Becca:

Dr. Pyro & the gang at Barbie Death Camp: Becca had such a wonderful time at your place, and it was great that she was welcome there. I think she is one of the few people who truly understands your art. (BTW: She ended up abscounding with 4 of your barbies!) ; )

To The Black Hole: You guys were absolutely fabulous! Thank you for making 'kiddie cocktails' for Becca so she could feel like a grown-up.

Thank You to all Black Rock Citizens! I love and miss you all!

Wiggle Pole

Post by girlie » Wed Sep 10, 2003 11:18 am

Thank you to whoever created the installation we were calling the "wiggle pole".

It looked like a large undulating tall-as-fuck pole from the distance. Until you walked up and realized that it was a large string of lights attached to a floating balloon. The best part was that it was completely interactive, and anyone walking up could swish the lights around to create cool patterns in the sky.

Good stuff. Thank you!

(i think i may get addicted to this thread -- there are so many people to thank!)

Thank you to Jason who said i could call him Raymond for including me in his crew of friends' playa walk late Thursday night.

I'd been doing solo travels all night and had just reached the point where i was looking for human interaction again when i bumped into you folks. Sorry i lost you so quickly once we hit the city.

Thank you:

Human Carcass Wash for a great experience!

Speeder Bill for the ride you gave my daughter to the Temple burn, and then graciously left early when it got to be too much for her.

Flux for being a great neighbor!

Anders for the wonderful tattoo, and more importantly the conversation.

And to the people who created the Anubis art car - that was spectacular!

Flux and Das Bus....the two people and their groups who really made 2003 very, very special for me. And they are the two I hope to see again in 04. They are good people to know, and you couldn't ask for better people to camp next to.

Zane....Dragontear is offline due to Ethernet cabling issues that I get to fix this weekend. But when I asked her what her favorite parts of BM were, she mentioned Black Light Camp and she just loved talking to you. Your one of her favorite e-playans now. I only got to the Black Light Camp twice but I heard a lot of good things about it from others. I hope you do it again next year.

She's very sweet, and very 15.

I'm sorry that when she came by to be painted, we had shut for the burn, or something like it. I was quite glad when she stopped by and look forward to the return of her effervescent personality.

Group Hug

Post by Guest » Thu Sep 11, 2003 2:17 pm

After the burn I was haplessly leading our little clan to where we thought the toilets were (love the post-burn disorientation) when I spotted three people walking toward us. I drifted to my right to avoid walking into them, but one of them kept drifting to his left! As they got closer they fanned out and I realized they were joined by a big web of stretchy material! They encircled our group and then constricted in until we were delighfully, if coercively, drawn into a group hug.

Thanks you three!

I go for the asskicking reality check. The playa reminds me that I'm alive, that my spirit is still free, my mind is still free. The playa never does me wrong. The playa loves me, and the playa also heals....mentally, physically, emotionally. For such a barren place, it's a wonderful place.

And putting up with 30,000 freaks? You call them freaks, I call them family, and they are totally fucking awesome people to meet.....even that pain in the ass at Playa Info that gave me so much hell, he's a burner, and he's still cool. Anyone who hauls their ass out to BRC and has been through the event is special. Doesn't matter what they look like, where they camp, who they are with, nothing. Burners are burners. And all are cool.

That's my $0.03 on the subject.

WHOEVER'S ADDING THE 2003 IMAGES

Post by The Key Man » Tue Sep 16, 2003 10:14 pm

Thanks a million to whoever is adding and uploading the images of BM 2003 on the main site. I love coming home from work and seeing that two or three dozen more are there to view and enjoy.

A further nicety, the new additions are put at the top of the sequence, so as you page through, you see the newest stuff first. Somebody really got it right.

A great pleasure, THANK YOU!

Speaking of French toast, I have to thank whomever it was that made French toast for everyone in Kidsville Saturday morning. The pumpkin bread French toast was just what I needed to get me moving again, it was good!

Also the Kidsville watermelon slices were good too!
