Graffiti Research Lab has a great "Laser Tag" freeware/copyleft system, open source, using a high output laser pen and a projector that allows you to write on buildings or other monumental structures with lazer light. Pretty kewl. I posted links to them on one of the last few pages on that thread.

The technology has come a long way in the last few years & has also gotten much more affordable. A quick search should find you plenty of info/products.
Just please, whatever you do, keep them ABOVE eye level!
(or well below. some of the MVs this year had ones a few inches off the ground that made amazing patterns on the playa.)

I'm not that sophisticated. I was trying to send the search, but didn't want the sarcastic part. There may be another way to do that.JStep wrote:LOL, you did a tiny url forward to the lmgtfy forward. I like lmgtfy, I use it all the time when people ask me, from their computer, about the simple things they could look up themselves.Shambala wrote:I'm not that sophisticated. ive searched almost everything laser projector and different effects and have found alot on laser pointers but nothing on those really big big lasers that travel the length of the sky. i also have questions on regaurding differnt laser levels. can someone tell me difference between a 5mw laser and a 300mw laser.(please dont tell me 295 mw i already got that thanx) is it just a differnt diode or is there more to it than just that.

Higher output I believe. Anything larger requires special registration or something with FAA, etc.THIZZkid wrote:ive searched almost everything laser projector and different effects and have found alot on laser pointers but nothing on those really big big lasers that travel the length of the sky. i also have questions on regaurding differnt laser levels. can someone tell me difference between a 5mw laser and a 300mw laser.(please dont tell me 295 mw i already got that thanx) is it just a differnt diode or is there more to it than just that.
If you get one of those handheld 300mw laser pointers in green it will cut the sky, especially with all the dust in the desert. (And I say in green because the eye is most sensitive to green light and the laser light appears brighter to the eye than the same amount of light in red. Blue is between the two.)
