"myLarry" or...
...is it "yourLarry"?
I've often wondered. Is that his handle? Would only AntiM use "myLarry" when talking about him? Should others use "yourLarry"?
Inquiring minds need to know.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Larry is his middle name. He and his dad are named Howard, so they called him Larry. Yet his dad is called Pete, which isn't any part of his name at all; his middle name is Claire. My brother Larry passed away in 2008, so we pretty much know which Larry at home now. Larry switched to Howard when stationed in Japan, easier for the JNs to pronounce. He uses Howard at work now, but the other drivers call him PacRat on the CB. His son, who is Lawrence Scott, is called Lonny (not our doing, some east coast thing his mother thinks is classy).
A couple Utah burners call him Super Larry.
He doesn't really care what you call him. Just not late for dinner.

Well duh, your now the Empire-or (or other assorted delusions of grandeur)Shambala wrote:I refer to him as MyLarry when I talk to him. I guess the playa name stuck. I have a problem with my eplaya name. I am not sure how to pronounce it. I only type it, but I am never called by that name.
Or, we just call you Stroll. Short for Shambala's Troll
As far as myLarry is concerned, short of the history behind the name, I always knew who AntiM or others were referring to and would of course use that in my short meetings with him on the playa.
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

I usually refer to him as : "put your nose right there and do what I say, this'll only take a minute"Shambala wrote:I guess the correct way is like the Three Dog Night song, but I tend to say it like FireMoose said---Sham-balla. It's always a little awkward at the M&Gs when I can't pronounce my own name! Maybe I will just change it to "stinky"!

Of course, I use my own boring name so what do I know?

My playa name was given to me several years ago, when I saved a lost elderly woman out in the deep playa. Life Saver was given to me by one of the founders of BM. (later that week, I found her lost and crying again)
Someone came to our camp asking for Shambala, and I almost shit, thinking that my cover was blown.
