The birds were local news here.
Not buying the "startled to death" theory until I see proof, though birds are impressively dumb.

Efforts to break up roosts using fireworks, and just shooting them dead, invariably fail.
How can you startle them?

Supposedly they do fly into stuff on a whim though.

And some birds fly at night.

And who is believing any early personal info about someone accused of anything?
If so, I've got some real estate to show you.

Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, from the Pima County Sheriff's Department, said at a press conference that a second suspect is believed to be a white male in his 50s.
