Meet and share an RV rental from Vegas

Post by Oso » Thu Dec 23, 2010 9:10 pm

I'm male, in my 50's (but in my 20's mentally and emotionally!) and this will be my 3rd time. I was a dj at BMIR last year, maybe again this year. Wife is not going this time but I wouldn't miss it, so I'm looking for someone from anywhere in the world to share an RV rental with me from Vegas. If you reply, we'll communicate extensively to make sure this is a good idea. (you know - crazy, but not too crazy, weird, but not too weird, etc!)

Maybe it's just me, but the idea of sharing a small space with an emotionally 20s male for a week, just isn't my cup of tea.

Last year I had a large rv (sleeps 6) - $1,416 for 10 days from El Monte in Vegas. Extras were gas, etc.

Actually, 20's isn't quite right..... more like a 12 year old.
(Some people lose their sense of wonder and excitement after the age of 12. And like Peter Pan says "I won't grow up".)

lol, that's pretty much the same deal I got going on now. Organizing a RV group for BM is a lot of work. People wanna know every detail and then don't end up going, lol. I spent over a hundred hours just in questions, lol. I don't mind the work but it sure is a lot. Its almost like all the RV Company's got together and set the price at four grand, lol. I set the Bar at 1500 per-person cause I know they wanna use all the water in one shower and run the Gen like crazy, lol. If your going to have an RV you'd might as well get your money's worth, lol.

My deal at 1500 gets you RV, water, Gas, tanks dumped, some Beer and food. It worked out last year really good. This year I got a 40ft 2005 Pimp RV, lol. I got so used to all the rocking in the RV i could sleep without it, lol.

So... the RV rental is $1,416... and then with gas, water, extras like overnight at an RV park a couple of days before and a couple of days after, the grand total would be something like $2,100. Split 3 ways that would be $700 each.
I'm trying to set this up now because I can get a good deal on the RV if it's booked this far ahead of time.

Last year I had this sick ass RV for 11 days.. 16' x 8' of complete open space.. enough room to throw an entire party in, sleep in, twirl around in, do whatever in.. and it cost me $350.

Just saying.

Budget FTW.

I'm with js on this. Last year I had the 25 foot model. We slept in it the first night and put up our hexayurt the next day. It was nice having all that space to; keep our stuff semi organized, change outfits, sit on the back end drinking beer and socializing with neighbors, use a pee funnel in comfort and private (TMI), etc. We left the ramp out the whole time so it was easy peasy going in and out of.
Our 25 footer cost us a little over $500 for 11 days

Yes it was Budget. I got the good deal because I originally ordered the 16 ft model. When I went to pick it up they didn't have one so they gave me the 25 footer. I wasn't to thrilled to be driving such a big truck but it worked out pretty good and it was nice having a lot of extra room.
