Welcome! You started early enough! Read the first timers guide. Save your money...and camping gear, and go for it! Make sure to bring plenty of water and bacon!
anything worth doing is worth overdoing..

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Buy a ticket next week. Just buy it and go from there. You can easily sell it later if real life happens.

Welcome! From a couple hundred miles north of you near Albany.

I will be going for the first time this year as well. It was almost 2010 for my first time but the stars were not aligned and it had to be put off for a year.

I started out preparing by reading everything and anything I could find. And by reading, interacting and asking questions here. There is an enormous amount of info available on the web to help us first timers. The main Burning Man site is a good place to start and after that google is your best friend.
It's pointless to walk when it's past time to run.
