Post by kenshi » Fri Jul 02, 2004 11:59 pm

I was just wondering is xaras going to be set up this year. I did not see it on the list of theme camps this year.

I crashed there one hot day, i was walking the playa taking pictures of the art and i was SO tired. You have NO idea HOW exsited i was when i walked into that place. I just took off my sarong layed it out and let the mist hit my nude lil frame why i took a nap. MAN was it WONDERFUL!

I giggle just thinking about it :-P

I found xaras while riding around the esplanade, It was like an oasis in the middle of nowhere. It was even more beautiful at night, when it was all lit up, like a neon rainforest. When I tell people about my experiences at burning man, xara always comes up in the discussion. I really hope they will be there this year. My brother is going with me for his first time, and he really wanted to see xara.

well, their fundraiser went very well. Still, Mark expressed hesitation. It's a whole lotta work to pull something like that off.

Perhaps Mark can ask all the fine folks who enjoy ZARA to pitch in some people-power,,, I'd share some time.

it takes more than good natured playa time volunteerism. At the end of the day 1 or maybe a handful of folks are doing all the stressin and worryin and administration.

Still, go to their site and contact them...

Yep, I hear ya... I've been there. I made a promise to myself not to get involved in a big "Stressfull" production this year however, I'm finding that all this free time is buggin me,,, no rest for the wicked.
I will contact them.

Xara will rise at BRC '04, but only for one night.

Thanks for asking, by the way. And thank you guys for sharing the nice memories; it's what makes it all worthwhile. - Mark

Hmmmm, the answer to the question was in the subject line of the preceding post, though it displayed rather inconspicuously. The answer is...

"Yes, Xara will rise and shine in BRC in 2004. But only for one night."
