Theme gone too far.
Ever have one of those moments when you are thinking about the theme, late at night. Maybe you're too tired, maybe you've had some to drink...
and you take it a little bit too far...
For about thirty seconds I thought it would be brilliant to have a moil at burning man for rites of passage.
a Circumcision camp...
Sort of like that waterboarding camp in 2008, just more permanent.
Any of you ever have that moment of "Wtf was I thinking?"
edit: silly typo, sorry.

Re: Theme gone too far.
After a night of too much drinking and deep thoughts of originality of themes, which are also rites of passage, Dave_techie wrote:...

Now THIS sounds like a potential "Brist camp of 2011" award contender...
(Now cut it off, er, out...)

I dunno, I think this idea could lend itself to an interesting sculptural installation, like a huge baby penis made of recycled materials and participants can peel away the foreskin made latex paint or something... You'd have to find some way to deel with the MOOP but I think something playing with the idea of circumcision could work.

my son had double hernia repair and told they doc, hey while your down there can you make me look like the other boys? I'd not had him cut as a babe, he was twin b, had issues etc and was in icu and i just could not let them hurt him anymore, especially for something that was pointless, anyway he was the only natural penis in Fredericksburg Texas i guess. Doc obliged. his hernia repair was healed WAAAAYYY before the circumsition healed up. poor guy.
When the only tool you got is a hammer, every problem looks like a hippie.

I've propositioned more than one urologist to come do Prince Albert piercings at Retrofrolic. No takers yet tho'.
I don't smoke much, but when I do, it is outside. Quite often, I have my most profound epiphanies concerning our camp during those brief meditations under the influence of tobacco. You ever catch yourself getting light-headed and realize you haven't taken a breath of fresh air since you lit your cig 2 minutes ago?
Conversations with the Green Faerie can be oddly entertaining theme ideas. It has a way of slowing the time space continuum where clarity sits on the tip of my nose. Usually it boils down to the Faerie saying, "Keep it simple stupid".

I'm sure that its lack doesn't make you any better as well...

I remember that one too... really sad for the theme camp it happened in. As well as those of us working that day. Bleah. Ugly and selfish way to frack up people's burn. Sure, he may have WANTED to do it at BRC, but didn't think of how those around him would be affected (typical of suicidals).
junglesmacks wrote:I guess "Death before penis mutilation!" would be apt in this case?
Hmmm... In Apokiliptika Doom Dome, we do this in opposite order... can get better confessions and denunciations that way.

That did not happen--it's an example of the way the press exagerates and distorts actual truth--and I am not too happy with your mindlessly repeating something that defames C&J and the burn in general.
