First timer from Bay Area...

Post by sirhc96 » Mon Jan 24, 2011 7:43 pm

Hello, I am looking to go to Burning Man this year for the first time. I know there are lots of burners in the SF area and I am fairly new to the area so I dont know anyone that is going and was hoping I could meet up with people in the area. I was kind of hoping to find people that want to work on an art theme of some kind. Im already trying to plan a few costumes but would like to help if someone is doing anything big. I live in Daly City so if anyone is near the area I hope I can meet some burners before Burning Man so I know people. Send me a message if anyone wants to meet up. Thanks.

There are of course plenty of Bay Area burners. *waves from Berkeley* I'm not sure if our regional scene is as robust at Seatlle's or Portlands, because, ironically, we can sort of take it for granted.

Of course, you shouldn't ask me, I'm a social moth.

I hope you take the snark in stride.

Read all of the preparation stuff you can from the Burning Man site, THEN ask al kinds of questions here, THEN look here for various theme camps that are coming up and try to find one that you'l fit in with.

Early days! Have fun!

I also recommend looking for SF area BM connected events like the SF Pre-Compression 2011.
