Post by PastryChefSuzy » Sat Jan 29, 2011 1:00 pm

OK: This IS gonna be the year!:
:?: Is there a group of experienced Burners I can be a part of? I can offer up my cheffing skills :D
AND:  I also have 200 lbs of my chocolate truffles that I can bring too!:
*BTW:  My truffles are SHELF-STABLE so temp isn't an issue.
 Also have an SUV as well if it's needed...

hey there and welcome! i'm new myself so can't help you with the camp thing, but i'm pretty sure you will be hearing from someone. I admit first thing i thought was "how will she keep it from melting?" and definately hope i run into you on the playa. i am a chocolate lover, but chocolate with some kind of savory/salty thing is the bomb.

Hey Suzy! :)

Click on "Profile" at the top there, under "Preferences" click "yes" next to "Always allow BBCode". This should allow your tags to work.

Welcome . . .

Luckily that chocolate is not near me because there is no chance it would last to make it to the burn. Sounds like a great gift.

Welcome!

How are the truffles THAT stable? They will need some protection...how 'bout a "playa" husband? ---> his name is moonrise! Haha, just teasin' ya!

Seriously, the 200lbs of truffles sounds like a big undertaking, I brought over 200 lbs of edible gourmet gunpowder & allllllll the accoutrements!
I feel ya'....I imagine the truffles could be 12+ boxes in volume?
You might need a big vehicle or a trailer...I have a small 4x8 trailer I use.
I bring a lot of stuff, a mattress for bad back and some other extra medical crap...the trailer came into play fast!
Due to my medical needs I joined a "short bus" camp my first year, it worked out very well for all, (bordering on too much fun for some, LOL)

I have a STRONG feeling you can find a good camp to join via eplaya; something that will fit your situation and skills.
There are threads on eplaya for joining a camp and invitations from various camps can also occur via PM.
Read "how to join a theme camp" also "camp dues" those seem VERY good, look in theme camp sections of eplaya.

If you're a gal, maybe we should name you "Truffles" (accept at your own discretion!)

Welcome *Truffles*
I'm the MAN in a truck, burner who is stuck, you're in luck! I'll whip out my BIG tow chain and not charge you, not even one lousy buck!

...use them as body paint and lick it off!

(Trust me - it works great for that at about 95 degrees  )

Welcome Truffles! :D This year is my first burn. I agree with moonrise. Someone will probably get in touch with you in here! I've gleaned a lot of things in here that'll make my virgin burn wonderful and something I've never experienced before!
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.
