Wow! We only had one channel. I was a walking TV guide back then cuz I had the weekly schedule memorized,,,, of course they signed off after the Tonight Show.

I think it was about '68 the local channel converted to color. We didn't get a color TV until '71 though.

we had 4 - 2, 4, 5, 7. Had to have the antenna pointed the right way, otherwise reception was funky.

We got cable for the moon landing in 69 - which went down. Had to re-hook up the antenna for that one.

We also got a color TV - this big old magnavox console with an AM-FM and -gasp- a stereo turntable built in - a couple years before. Thing was in the shop more than not, eventually replaced the TV part with a Sony Trinitron. I got the old Zenith B&W which had a great picture, and yes, even a remote (that bonged to change the channel - modern technology!!)...

Now, with digital TV, if the signal is weak, you get no TV. ;( Sucky system. Must've been pushed thru by the cable companies...

Remember when parents sent you out to play and , "just be home when the street lights come on!"

Remember when it was cool to make models, dig holes and have dirt clod fights?

Remember when play grounds were gravel and swing seats were wooden planks?

Remember, the child you were is the senior citizen you will become.

It seems that politicians nowadays are generally understood to do what they do NOT say they will do. Remember when your representative came to your neighborhood and actually looked you in the eye and had a discussion?

remember when Girl Scout cookies were 50 cents a box?
remember when milk was delivered to your door in glass bottles?
remember when penny candy was actually a penny and sometimes 2 for a penny?
remember YooHoo chocolate drink
remember when JFK was shot?
remember when skateboards had metal wheels?
remember when movies were 25 cents, popcorn and a sodas were a dime, and candy bars were a nickel?
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

There's a thread on digital tv.
There are solutions for many of these reception issues.
Check where your frequencies are.
The problems here are the vhf and the crossover between vhf and uhf.
Many antennas just suck.

The best lodef box is still the channelmaster.
Still available last I heard.
When the weather causes me to lose signal I switch to it and usually get a good lock.
I use the TRT box mostly, also still available.
Both boxes have s-video out.
