I bought these at the highest level. I did not try to get in on the lower tiers. I paid $320 each.

We still have all the gear. I am ready for another Oil Derrick. I do have a new twist on it, though.

We have developed an effect we call the Tsumani of Fire. It will take a while to set up, a lot of money and a Crude Awakening size art project to make it really stand out.

Another little hint, it will require roughly 2000 gallons of gasoline and 500 gallons of methanol. One of the Flaming Lotus Girls coined the term when we brought in the fuel for Passage in 05' Tanker Envy! We needed so much methanol that we just hired a tanker to bring it to us.

How do you not remember the Oil Derrick? I mean fuck, I was minding the bar out on fracking K street and I swear my arm hair was singed that night.

So where do I bring the cows? No really. Although come to think of it, the neighbor has some hogs, would hogs work? At least then everyone could have some bacon as long as the hogs are in the tsunami path

yes i know livestock isn't a good source of methane for methanol, i just wanted to give out that mental image.. also thanks for asking the question that i asked but was too lazy to look up to see if it was asked
I have a little bit of Savannah with me. Shhh...

Kind of off topic, but "advertisement" only has one "D" so the abbreviated form is just "ad"... I know it's just the internet, but I've seen a few other weird word choices/spellings from you, and you're a "professional" or whatever and spelling is an important tool in getting your message across. Plus it makes me, and perhaps others, dislike you a little bit more every time.

Unless an eBay add is some term I'm unfamiliar with?

I guess this means you guys don't like me anymore. A couple of posts up I spelled Tsunami wrong.

And I guess we don't like Herring much either. Below is her spelling lesson from another topic.

"Here's the thread in the ticket subforum, in which the eBay seller actually regesterred an account and continues to try to defend himself: "

The point, we all make spelling errors. If you disagree with someone, attack the idea, not the person. Attacking the person demonstrates a lack of substance in your debate.

For me it really is a matter of getting the words right to get the message across correctly. Yeah we all make spelling errors, but what if there is such a term as "eBay add" (or eBay +, perhaps???) and I'm unfamiliar with it and so that post just confused me. The mutant vehicle vs. "morphed" vehicle is another example of the confusing terminology. Like I said, I'm not the professional trying to get people to understand me and my idea, either. It's more difficult to understand you when you use the wrong words.

That's all.

mentioning that someone commonly misspells or misplaces words like, add or fillet mignon or principals as opposed to principles is not an "attack" unless you are also being an asshole which Herring was not and neither was I when i found it odd that Kev repeatedly spelled filet mignon with "fillet".

a person who is less defensive and able to accept "tips" or "help" to further themselves in the world without feeling "attacked" is better off. Kevin appears to be one of those 'better off' people and does not easily take offense when people disagree or point out errors....in my not so humble opinion.

..the ruler part could be fun too!!

This whole thing reeks of coachella\glastonbury\bonaroo

This whole idea, this ebay nonsense seems like a slap in the face.

Many of us work our asses off all year to participate.

And making a profit off people spectating. Encouraging it. Gives me a feeling I cannot characterize, and care not to describe. but it is wholly unpleasant.

Make sure to tell your costomers that the dust might kill them.

I'd be tickled pink if Sacgam dropped it. But he won't, the BMORG won't "put a stop to it", so... there it is, a big steaming pile. Personally, I can choose to ignore it, rant about it, mock it, pick at it, or choose to get involved and make it "our" steaming pile.

We've seen it year after year, this is simply the first time the planner has responded.

Herring- Something I have noticed about this forum, the horse and Kenny from South Park have a lot in common, they never die.

I am under a microscope and expect to be picked apart. when I get tired of it I will leave.

I will never claim to have the best grammar. I rely on my spell check...lol. I will try harder to pay closer attention.

AntiM- There is only one time in my life I was a quitter, I stopped smoking pot. *chuckle*

Dave_techie- If you think this is a slap in the face, then you been slapped for the last 10 ears and didn't even know it. This is not a new concept. I have pointed out all the profiteers above and no one has responded. So if I buy a water truck and make $200,000 at BM its cool? Hmmmmmm

OK... I've been following this all the way thru. At first I was appalled. Then I figured, well, if it turns yupsters into burners, that wouldn't be half bad. Now we're into thread drift... >>shrug<<

It's still commodification IMO. But then again, so is selling tickets to the event, or (ug) coffee at Center Camp.

I think SacGames is starting to get it. I've noticed in the past 10 pages his posts have gone from selling a commodity to actually almost sortakinda starting to (a little bit) embrace some of what we are about. Of course, the thread is now into drifty stage, way off topic.

I like what AntiM said:
I'd be tickled pink if Sacgam dropped it. But he won't, the BMORG won't "put a stop to it", so... there it is, a big steaming pile. Personally, I can choose to ignore it, rant about it, mock it, pick at it, or choose to get involved and make it "our" steaming pile.

What IF instead of asshating SacGames to death, we engaged him, showed him the error of his ways, and made his camp something that even a burner like, hell, I dunno, would appreciate? That's a challenge - instead of getting on the wah wah whiney bus (and yeah, I do that too a gawdawful lot) we (to quite Colonel Jessup in a Few Good Men) "train the lad"...

Sure, it's easy to tell him "Hey, you're an asshat, fuck you and your idea" but if we could instead make his gig something that would change these hi-rollers into burners next year... I mean, full scale invasion burnification of the "consumerists"... we may have a chance. Of course, some will walk away disgusted at "soiling their space", but fuck 'em... it's a free playa (OK, a $320 playa!) and if we can all work together to change this, maybe we can make a dif, so next year instead of commodification, these people and their friends will line up with us at 10 AM to try their hand at the land rush, get their own gear and shit together, and be BURNERS, not consumers.

Can ya dig it? Or is that too radical - to induce a "rite of passage" onto these people? Change them from isolated to part of the **ding**--drink-- community --drink-- **ding** ? I bet, enough of us show them what this is REALLY about, they may feel pretty sheepish by the time they go back to their butlerified camp and realize they're missing out

I can often be slow on the uptake but the more I read the replies from the OP in this thread the more I have this...itch that everyone here has been played.

Start with going to the link and placing a bid. You can see that whatever reasonable bid one places is never quite enough to meet the minimum albeit outrageous requirements.

This guy isn't a scammer. This guy is a leg-puller and he's successfully pranked damn near everyone reading this thread.

I congratulate you sir.

I have to point out that you're making a completely false equivalence here. Water trucks paid by BMORG to provide a service is completely different from exploiting the culture itself and it's very principles for a profit by encouraging lazy spectators to attend under the guise of exposing them to BM. If you were renting biffies to BM, providing ice to be sold at center cap, whatever, you know damned well there would be no firestorm of pissed off burners.

The reason no one's responded to your smoke screen trying to equate your crass exploitation with providing a service is that, I believe, it's transparent and beneath a reply.

Also, the fact that people have been doing this for a long time, is that supposed to justify it? People have been ripping off and exploiting other cultures for decades, that doesn't make it a noble enterprise.
