Nighttime, maybe 11pm, night before burn, I had blisters and playa foot so was recovering for next night while everyone else was out having fun. Our camp was 6 people, 1 RV, 1 gp med. tent, 4 personal tents. We were right next to a bank of crappers (bad place to camp), maybe 4 rows back around 185 degrees (fairly close to center camp). We had no lites on other than a few of those malibu solar lites, our tent was closed up, and I was sleeping in a dark corner behind a sofa. The guy was dressed like a civilian (shorts, T-shirt) and had a headlamp and a backpack with stuff in it (other people's stuff most likely).stuart wrote:that's fabulousI carry handcuffs now. I have considered just locking the bastard up inside a portapotty after writing "I am a thief who was caught stealing" in permanent marker and calling it good. Call it performance art.
so, what time of day was this? How big was your camp? What day was it?
I think one of the reasons we have been lucky in years since while other camps around us get hit are;
1) we now have around 20 malibu solar lights so our camp is fairly well lit
2) we lock up valuables hidden in our cars
3) are group is larger now so there is almost always one person in camp
