Lucid, if you are anywhere near Vegas as your name suggests, find any one of the many dry lakes and take it for a spin, once the heat sets in.

Prim lake is almost a perfect match for the BM playa.

Hmmmm is it the same? In my mind playa is worse from all I read. But wouldn't hurt to try ;) maybe I'll plan a trip to ride the coaster, lunch, and ride the local playa. Yes I am in Vegas btw heh.

Something like chariot with a ramp off the back, larger platform, wider wheelbase,.... interesting, doable.

o.k. here's an idea for the back part. then front fork, powered hub motor front wheel, and handlebars. roll on, roll off... may need a kickstand on the back to keep it from tipping backwards when getting on and off.

how about welding a single swiveling pneumatic caster to the end.

the caster is a good idea. I think if it had a flip down ramp, that could also have some structural element on the bottom/outside that would make a good firm base too. All the cargo trikes I'm looking at aren't designed to driven from the cargo side. lol.
