Ready for a Life changing Burn. Michigan Virgin Burner.

Post by Rustyjello » Sat Feb 05, 2011 10:32 pm

I want to help with a theme camp or some art local in MI. Been wanting to come for 10+ years. Finnally made it happen. Getting prep'd early. Can't wait to be home on the playa. See you all there.

Don't expect it to be life changing- you might be disappointed. Just go & hope for a good time, then if it turns out to be life changing it's an added bonus!

I obviously know lots of people, myself included, who wouldn't think of missing the Burn if at all possible; but I also have plenty of friends who've gone once or twice, said "okay" and they're done with it.

Try not to set up expectations, as hard as that may be. They have a way of backfiring.

Try to focus on supporting local artists and Burning Man groups...perhaps those efforts will turn into a collective group camp of sorts...folks you will have labored and loved with before arrival at the playa. Many of the theme camps are very narrowly focused...that's why they're called theme camps...not all of them, although interesting in their own right, will fit your personality or interests.
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.
