Maybe bring a flag from your country so other homelanders can find you...maybe a few small ones for them too. (& lots of blinkie pins!?!!)
2010, a handful of camp mates (mostly veteran BM wives) did a spur of the moment, "okay, here are the gifts I brought for camp mates" moment early in the week, next thing I knew I had about 6 cool new things...I guess they call that schwag, all the gifts were man logo'd useful and fun items.
Surprised! I quickly made some of the best drinks I had (I didn't bring custom printed schwag) and of course shared everything else I brought, including what I had been gifted,,, all week....it was fun.
The range is huge, there are BIG gifts and invisible, intangiable gifts too...

Candy. Not that we don't have candy, but European candy always seems so exotic and kewl.
I always enjoy British tabloids too, not that I'll probably read them at BM...
Oh and lots of hashish. You can bring hashish to Burning Man, right?

Much as I might miss british candy (although, I have to admit it's nostalgia now that smarties don't come in a tube) I'm going to say that be careful of the chocolate option. The playa is not ideal chocolate territory. Keeping it cold would mean more messing with coolers and ice than is ideal for a first timer. We don't have "wine gums" or whatever the fuck they are called, here, and I'm sure there's more.

We brought 2 bottles of absinthe back from Spain wrapped in our clothing. Customs felt the bottles and we had declared them. No duty was assessed or did they even unwrap the bottles to see what they were.theCryptofishist wrote:He's not going to be able to bring more than one bottle.
I guess he can pay the duty, I'm fuzzy on that.
And since you mentioned "peppery",,, absinthes vary tremendously in taste, alcohol content, color and most importantly, whether they are macerated or distilled. We are just finishing our last bottle of Czech absinthe which has very little anise. The Spanish absinthe is almost all anise. We have some German variations which can be more sweet or more bitter. The French absinthes are probably closest to the originals which were 68%, or 136 proof and are still distilled in the original fashion with the original recipes of 1805.

I can buy this at my local liquor store for about $80

I'm sure the Apokaliptika Cantina would appreciate the absinthe as well.
No need for the decision to be made now, especially as we all know what happens to plans when you get on playa.
