Driving from California to Atlanta stopping at every gay bar along the way to be fascinated by small town/city gay culture in the south. Count the number of times you hear one of the small town gays say "we have the 2nd largest gay population per capita outside of San Francisco." Buy the ones who say that a drink and don't point out the obvious.
Going to Chicago in February just to see what "cold" really is.
Going to Edinburgh Scotland on a cool spring day, renting a car, and driving on the wrong side of the road around Loch Lomond. Stopping for tea at the little village on the east side, and maybe a drink at the pub.
Climbing a sand dune in winter in Death Valley, and listening to the total and complete sound of silence. Take that moment to be truly truly alone with yourself, and feel what you need to feel privately.
Ignore the security people at Best Buy when they demand to look inside your bag after you've finished your purchase and are leaving the store.
Pick up an old 1920's black jazz/blues album from itunes.

In Norse mythology, a troll is a generally negative synonym for jötunn. Later, in Scandinavian folklore, trolls became beings in their own right. In modern times trolls are depicted in a variety of media.
In Norse mythology, troll, like thurs is a term applied to jötnar. In Old Norse sources, trolls are said to dwell in isolated mountains, rocks, and caves, sometimes live together (usually as father-and-daughter or mother-and-son), and are rarely described as helpful or friendly.
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion

A troll is a Usenet article, not a person.

ooh, showing your age Bob- for the whippersnappers a "troll" is usually the person doing the trouble-making posts, though it can also mean the post itself.Bob wrote:A troll is a Usenet article, not a person.
As for Usenet.... I don't think most of the kids today even know what that is, though they definitely know a troll.

The wild west days of the interwebs. It's too bad that most of the big ISPs have blocked Usenet or parts of it. I love the Oracle and at least it's still available. http://cgi.cs.indiana.edu/~oracle/index.cgiEric wrote:ooh, showing your age Bob- for the whippersnappers a "troll" is usually the person doing the trouble-making posts, though it can also mean the post itself.Bob wrote:A troll is a Usenet article, not a person.

And the canonical use of the verb form is 'trolling for newbies'. Not a lost art, by any means.Eric wrote:ooh, showing your age Bob- for the whippersnappers a "troll" is usually the person doing the trouble-making posts, though it can also mean the post itself.Bob wrote:A troll is a Usenet article, not a person.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
