Will the caches posted somewhere or will you have to look them up on the geocaching site beforehand?

I'm not sure when they will be listed. Get on the Watchlist for the event I posted above and we will probably be able to get our information there.

We will probably be putting on Cache & Burn IV, Thursday at the Man...as we do every year. Last year was a little un organized. LOL! We'll have more prizes for the drawing this year!

I went through this argument with GC.com a couple of years ago. They will not publish an actual cache on the playa...as it's temporary and there is really no way to know the coords until you are out there, getting them loaded on GC.com while out there would be another challenge. They'll only approve event caches and even that was a battle. I think Jeremy Irish needs to attend!

You don't *have* to use the geocaching site. Groundspeak doesn't own the satellites

I still think a GC theme camp could act as a central repository for coordinates, allowing me to hide a temporary cache somewhere @ _my_ camp or art installation, and then just post the lat/long at the geocaching theme camp.

In 2009 the Black Rock Beacon posted coords to different caches in different camps every day, sadly we only made it to one that week

. You should get a hold of ZediKnight (I'm pretty sure that's her GC name), she's the one that put that on and I believe she is still involved with the paper.
