Hellos from Oregon!

Post by Kreuz » Mon Feb 14, 2011 6:45 pm

Hi to all of the burners out there! I will be attending BM this year with a small group of people from Southern Oregon.

It seems as if there is something drawing me to BRC this year, always wanted to go in the past but never got enough nerve to.

Now it seems as though the light of the Playa at night will be my guide!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I wish my drive to the playa were as short as yours! Yeah, it's really about time you made it. :)

Ah, Savannah... Your drive is not "that" far.

Love Rice.

Okay, not compared to Saskatchewan, but still a little more than three times as far as Kreuz's. (Do you remember where I'm from, or do you simply feel it's a safe bet?)

I'm just saying wouldn't have missed 2004-2007 if I'd lived in Medford. I would have crawled.

Yep. Know what you mean, Kreuz. I live just over the mountain from you, 200 miles from the playa. So I go down two or three times a year. I lived almost 2000 miles from the playa before here and could not find anyone who wanted to go, let alone know what BM was, and just couldn't get it together to do it. I was intimidated by BRC. As a matter of fact, when I drive in, I feel that intimidation still, along with great anticipation, curiosity and just plain joy to be home again. It's a helluva place, that Black Rock City. There is nothing like it any where, I would suspect in the world.

Well, welcome. And maybe I'll meet you at the MnG at Barbie Death Camp.

Welcome!

Sounds you like the night(life), if so, try to bring lots and lots of fun blinkies, leds, glowies and such

this thread discusses many fun lights, mostly for body lighting for safety and fun to wear!

this thread is by junglesmacks, he's giving his spare LEDS if you are good at DIY projects (and there is still time to learn) you might want to PM him
(junglesmacks writes many practical, helpful threads on other prep too!)

7 time burner

Post by socks » Wed Mar 16, 2011 7:12 pm

This will be burn number 7 but still a newbie on eplaya. My first time my friend told me about burning man kinda.I asked what to expect and he told me nothing. He even had a video but would not let me see it.He told me to go with a clean slate. No expectations at all.The one thing he did say was Burning man will change your life and i laughed. My first burn was floating world and it did change my life.I learned to give and not judge people. My only regret is it took me so long to find the eplaya community.
