Desert Nomad themed camp
I am looking to find a Israelite/desert nomad/Bedouin themed camp. I would like to do a 40 years in the desert/ leaving Egypt theme. I am thinking about having some of the themes with in the theme to be: Throwing off the chains of (mental) slavery/oppression/bondage/captivity, Maintaining both your chosen path and faith in the face of adversity, and Maintaining your cultural identity thought out a diaspora.
I would love to form a culturally diverse camp. I would also like to have some sort of homage to the many unjustly oppressed peoples of the world, such as the people of Darfur and Tibet.
I would like to also include a homage to all the peaceful and spiritual warriors of our world, Such as Gandhi and the Dali Lama... If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.

Set up a tent. Wear a thobe and shemagh. Put up some pretty pictures, do some performance art. There you go.BaalTeshuva wrote:I am looking to find a Israelite/desert nomad/Bedouin themed camp.

Desert Camp
Can I bring my friends from Blackwater / EO ? They have all the clothing and are oppressed desert dwellers and defenders of freedom.
They may even be able to get Tibet back for you.
Pleeeeeze.

eplaya hiccups sometimes. Also if you try and catch it before it posts and edit it, then you'll get one version of each. Which will look like two identical to most of who are crouched over our blackberries surreptitiously posting at work or during a flat hollywood film.
You can't pull it. The accepted way of dealing with it--if you catch it during the hour you can edit it--is to go into one of the posts and say "double post."
But I wouldn't worry about, it happens to lots of us now and then.

A Mirror
Why would anyone want to dress up like a desert nomad or a Bedouin or a Tusken Raider or a Fremen?
Those outfits look too hot to wear on the Playa.
