A day made of playa dirt

What is the spiritual meaning behind portable display glass? Is the future brought to you by Corning so that we can eat popcorn, watch people in sanitized conditions enjoying meaningless activities which serve the basic purpose to sell more display glass (be fruitful an multiply)? How is this more beneficial to humanity than drawing it out on a playa dirt canvas and having Motumbo Medicine Man heat up a vat of brain distilled goulash while roaming the playa in pursuit of dusty art and manic burners? As nice as this is on a physical realm, something seems to be missing (spirit/purpose maybe?)...
I can't get away from the idea that the more technologically "successful" we are, the more it tends to generate too much of a good thing. I think that success/prosperity tends to bring overpopulation and the need for more jobs which don't exist and the only way to end it (and bring balance) is through suffering. Sorry to be such a downer... I'm having trouble seeing an upside.

Is there supposed to be something "spiritual" here?
Are we doing something "meaningful" now?
