push carts and big boots

Hi All,
My latest quests have involved searching for these items, and I appreciate any assistance you can provide.
Last year was the final year for my platform boots, and I am in need of a new pair. Easy enough task...except I need a new pair or two with a target price of around $40. I am fairly thrifty when it comes to clothing... I have always managed to find them for this price in years past, but the discount stores have either stopped selling this style of shoe or closed altogether. If you know of anywhere in socal where I can find deals on big boots, please let me know.
Second item of business. Who lives in the ghetto? Do you have vendors who sell ice cream out of the small push carts? Well, I need one of those. I need a way to serve all you fine people from a small, refridgerated cart that I'd like to modify to mount to my bike.
Any suggestions for either? Thanks.

I'm guessing that those pushcarts are going to be A. pretty damn expensive and B. pretty damn heavy to pull behind your bike.

For my chai cart I simply took an old Burly bike trailer (the kind yuppies use to haul their kids around in), removed all the ankle biter hauling parts and replaced it with a simple plywood box. From their I mounted an umbrella and my restaurant quality insulated beverage container (this is where I keep my chai cold and it stays really cold, all day long!).

So I would suggest something similar, if you are going to passing out frozen treats you can make the top flip upan inside you can store and ice chest. (my chai cart opens in the back for extra storage of chai, ice and a lawn chair). The best part is that it all comes apart and folds down really nicely for transport. Thanks so much, Chai Guy. You're idea is probably much better than mine, and your cart looks great, by the way. Please check your PMs for a couple specific questions.

Sparkletarte, at least in socal, the ghetto parts of town are the only place where one can find people with push carts. People from suburbs or nicer areas who spend most of their time there aren't familiar with this phenomenon.

Well, I do live in one of the poorest parts of Madison, Wisconsin, and, yes, we do have people who sell ice cream from push carts, and from ice cream trucks. I have even had a woman show up at my door with her cute daughter and a bag of tamales she was selling.

I seem to recall that the ice cream trucks do show up in the not so poor parts of town-- I don't recall the carts or door to door tamale people in those parts of town.

I agree that Chai Guy's trailer seems like a better idea. Those ice cream carts look pretty heavy to be towed. (BTW, I also agree that Chai Guy's cart looks great!)
