Need help to find a camp for 8 french newbies. :)
Hello
I ve been to burning man in 2008 with 8 people from france and I come back this year with 7 new ones.
The main problem for us in 2008 was to buy so many stuff for nothing like bikes/chairs/cooler/cooker...etc we had to give it to people at the end. And it was very complicated to make our own food too.... (impossible to bring cheeses with us from France haha )
I want to be in a camp this year but when I see the list, i'm totally lost. there are like 200......
Could you tell me some camp pretty big and nice in wich you pay and the food is included. I know that each one have to contribute of course.
thank you :)
Gabriel

Expect to do some footwork on this. It starts with you, what sort of camp experience do you want? What do you and your group like doing? Would you rather help more or pay more (although, that's not always how it works out.)
Then go through the camp list and find a list of "hot prospects."
At that point, write a one or two paragraph synopsis of what you offer and what you want. Send it to the first ten or fifteen camps on your list. Some of those camps will be friends only, some won't be going to the playa this year, some will be filled with crazy idiots who would give you lots of stories to tell, but not the kind that are fun to live through.
Go through your responses, ask more questions, answer the questions they ask, and see what seems to be a good fit.
And feel free to read this thread to get a lot more pointers.

Many large, well known and established camps, such as Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro, have many of the creature comforts you're looking for, but we do not have a central kitchen nor do we supply food, except as individual gifts. Make it clear to whomever you may approach that you have to have a kitchen/food supplied.

It's more radically self-reliant if you fill in your own answers to the test questions.Dr. Pyro wrote:What ever happened to radical self-reliance?
