unjonholly, I'm glad you're coming to your senses and realize that maybe this kind of thing isnt for you. Treat life like it was blackjack, and get the duck out quick! We need less illiterate people anyway!

I don't care what people think of my post. People will be people, judgemental and ignorant as they may be. As for all those who helped fill in the gaps, still much appreciation!

Peace

The eplaya's like a party line straight to Purgatory. Too bad BBSs didn't exist in an exploitable format when we were kids. Could have saved us from the ravages of all sorts of evil things, evildoers, etc.

Maybe I ought to warn the mylar guy to leave a small section uncovered so he doesn't asphyxiate like that chick in Goldfinger. Hundreds died in the glam era that way, ya know.

I'm realy thing of turning in my ticket after this last dork chimed in. This is going to be one wide year.
Wait.. what did I say?

Why is this year going to be wider than last? Is time-space expanding?

I'm confused.

Anyone remember the Terms of Service for Eplaya?

To quote some of the Eplaya Terms of Service:

"The following is a partial list of the kind of Content that is illegal or prohibited on the Eplaya. Burning Man reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action in its sole discretion against anyone who violates this provision, including without limitation, removing the offending post from the Service and terminating the membership of such violators, in connection with all available civil, criminal, and injunctive remedies. You agree not to use the Service to:

* post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;

* harm minors in any way;

* harasses or advocates harassment of another person; "

Whats up with these morons posting duplicates, don't you know that the submit button isn't a program that needs to be double clicked?

Maybe the admins should delete the whole thread because every since I first posted it I've gotten a bit of abusive vulgar comments from others myself! I'm just reciprocating a similar piece of my mind.

Oh btw icepack are you threatening me? :evil:

oh for the love of fuck.

if you're going to use the fucking word "cunt" why not just say "fuck"?

It's a bbs. People get rude. *Most* responses were relatively kind. Focus on that and ignore the assholes as much as you can would be my advice. But fuck it, what do I know? (but people can "recpirocate" in that way for freakin ever around here...)

Sometimes the board itself hiccups and posts double, btw...

Come on people act nice, not naturally.

If you thought this person was tolling then it would have been best to leave it alone.

Lysergic- perhaps if you couldn't find the answer in the Survival Guide after reading it twice then maybe do a search for your information before starting a thread. It's OK to PM (personal Message) someone for the information and then start your thread.

Feel free to PM me!

Welcome to Eplaya! Eplaya is not the playa.

From everything I have read regarding Burning Man and the culture that we all want to focus on, the idea is that we get to be away for a week and not treat eachother the way the rest of the world treats others on a regular basis. This includes any sort of reply that we give on this website! Burning Man doesn't start on the 30th, the idea and the hope of a society where all are accepted and all are loved (even if they didn't read the information on the website completely) starts now, when we reach out to those who still have questions and help them.
Yes, when we get out on the playa we tend to be quite nice to each other. This however, is not the playa. It's the internet, and it brings out the asshole in us. If you've been posting on this board for more than a week and no one's directed a mean-spirited comment at you, that means you're doing something wrong. Just roll with it, and accept the fact that if one of us has a bad day, we're probably gonna be a bit snappy towards the new kids. It's just like grade school, except we use bigger words.

No, I'm not threatening you or anyone else. I just found your language offensive and thought maybe you and others could benefit from a reminder of the community guidelines.

And if the system wasn't running so slow, I wouldn't have double-posted. I hit the button, nothing happened for 5 minutes, I hit it again waited another 5 mintues and left the room. Came back and saw my message posted twice. Admins should pay attention and see why this problem seems to be reoccuring. Maybe too much traffic on the system during peak hours or something.

Beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder, Miss Iso.

As for duplicate posts before people start running their mouths, you need to know that the board experiences lag times. It is not on a dedicated server and periodically stuff happens that slows it down. It's not a matter of stupidity, it is a legitimate and longstanding technical glitch.

The double post comments were way out of line but you didn't know the backstory. Now that you do...assuming you read this, if you spout off again the clue stick is going to come down on you like an old fashioned Singaporean caning session.

If the OP were still mulling it over, I think the Chupacabra Policia has some openings.

As it were.

So the Marc Bolan car crash was a fake to cover up his lame death? And then a few years later--Bam! John Lennon. Must go to corner and shake.
