Discovery Channel just contacted me looking for survivalist type people for their show. This particular casting director does not work on those yucky exploitative style shows. If interested keep reading . . . if not, then delete. I'm just sharing the info with you.

DISCOVERY CHANNEL's new SURVIVALIST series wants to know

Can you Survive in the Wild?

Do you have the skills to build shelter, start a fire, purify water, create energy, hunt, find food, make weapons, make clothing, be an asset if left with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING? or are you someone who is so addicted to their computer, iPhone, Blackberry that there is NO way you could disconnect for up to 6 weeks?

Sounds like another reality show... Don't they do "survivorman" and whatnot? AND the "reality" show on BRC??

Please don't take this as snark; it's just these networks are keen on exploitative entertainment and short on reality, no matter how "genuine" their casting calls are. Caveat emptor...

Besides - if you really do follow a preparation mindset, do you *really* want your survivalist face and self shown to 30 million sheeple??

I have no information about this, nor was I endorsing it but since it was on the BM Los Angeles page I just thought someone here might be interested. Not to mention, being on TV is a great opportunity for some people. Everyone likes their 15 minutes of fame.

These days, I'm just grateful to have a foot on the end of my left leg,,,, even walking the golf course is marginal these days. Thank goodness for naproxen!
