I've plonked DVD in the past,,,, in fact the only person I've ever plonked,,, but after a few months, I realized I was actually practicing censorship voluntarily.
GD,,,, last night was not a matter of "biting" but rather a matter of "bating". One of his other threads is where it all began and I pursued him here to simply feed him some of his own crap. It was oddly entertaining and seems to demonstrate just how poorly someone listens while drooling hate
sorry TnT i found reading your response highly entertaining even not reading his words, so yes baiting not biting, but thats what i mean about interesting people making it harder to ignore the idiots, i can ignore the political threads (mostly) and some of the pointless dead end threads become funny as people drift.
There are some heartbreaking tales on here, some uplifting tales (often posts apart) some people sharing and supporting each other, a feeling of Community (sure some people don't like each other but they acknowledge the have to exist in the same space) and its a community of choice, everyone is here because they want to be, insults, snark and all.
As somebody pointed out to me, We play with you because we LIKE you
Just about everyone here is nice by default (in ther own way) and tries to be helpful, funny, welcoming and a good friend. Not a sycophantic firend that just wants to be nice, a real friend that tells you when you're a dick, but doesn't hate you for it- well not straight away and not forever! Even if they do get to hate you they still want to help you (to help yourself) a truely self-reliant community one that functions more than the sum of its parts - all which are independant and fully functioning
BUT some people want to drag it down to defaultia dick-swinging pissing contests. Hurling insults like they prove anything and repeating themselves like if they say it enough it actually might be true, or perhaps at they will finally beleive it.
sorry to go on so but i tend to talk a lot when i'm nervous.
