Having gone to school in "Biggity-Diggity O town", the Zion Curtain does seem real. Oh my heck! was the popular exclamation in those days,,,, a truly unique Mormon thing.

It was, and probably still is, a running joke that Brigham Young, when he saw the Salt Lake Valley from Immigrant Canyon and stated, "This is the Place!",,, that he then turned toward Ogden and said,"And there's the Other place!"

well, like anything, it surely has good and bad.........I see a lot of good in it, and, good people are there.
Sure, nothings perfect, or even close, but still.

People get so wrapped up in "the beliefs of others"........

Whether politics, religion, or Coke vs Pepsi, we all have our "things".

how about:
you do yours, I'll do mine...........and, "GOMFL"

I agree,,,, what is the point of selecting a belief system to harsh and offend? I find nothing wrong with God and family. It is damn hard work and discipline to live as they do.

Besides, if it wasn't for Mormonism, this song may have never been as popular as it is,,,, in fact, everytime I hear it,,,, I think of the Playa!

LOL.

The Zion Curtain is a real thing, a visual barrier so restaurant patrons couldn't see the drinks being prepared. A literal shield for the children. The meaning changed over time. with the new liquor laws in place, I think they've done away with it.

School? WSU? Surely not Ogden High.

Just 67% of it.

I sent in my official resignation and have been removed from the rolls. Caused a little discontent in the neighborhood, but they are over it.

The standing joke about July 24th celebrations is:
They celebrate it in NY and MO because Mormons left
They celebrate it in UT because they arrived
They celebrate it in CA because they didn't come here

It was, in fact the largest number of casualties caused by domestic terrorism until Oklahoma City.

Interesting you do not see the Mt. Meadow massacre listed under the "acts of domestic terrorism in the 1800's" search on Wiki.

If you go to the actual monument where the massacre took place, the factoid as the "Greatest number of casualties,,,," is written on the monument itself.

SELECTIVE HISTORICAL RECORDS???? some things just make me go, "hmmmmm"
