And in case anybody wonders yes it does have sequins however 90% of them fell out as I crocheted it and no more have fallen since I finished it...so I'm hoping the MOOP will be kept to a minimum.

I bought the yarn BEFORE I knew better (A.K.A. read more of eplaya)

Hi All,

I haven't been able to come to eplaya much recently. Lots of family troubles (parental dementia etc.) and just plain old life interfering. But I'm so glad this thread is still alive and kicking. The Mr. and I will be skipping the playa this year, I have a big road trip planned with my artcar buddies, but next year is a for sure. I will still, as always, be making costumes and of course as an ooooold hand now, I'm happy to share my experience and suggestions with any newbies or costume-challenged folks. Good to see you Jella, Fishy.

Individually sewn sequins with a seed bead fastener may hold up, but then you'd be a Bad Example.

I will do my best to remove all the ones that are easy to pull off but some are buried deep in the stitches so they should be ok.

Needle and thread with knotted end. Place a single sequin. Bring the needle up through the hole from the back side of the fabric. Thread on a seed bead; the needle has to be slim. Push the bead down to the sequin, put the needle back through the hole in the sequin, pull the thread taut. Tie it off with a knot, cut the thread. Start again. Do not string the sequins on a single thread, each one must be sewn on and knotted by itself.

Hey I,m a sewer and I have lots of fabric... SOOOO, I am a first timer and Im bring my husband and he uses a wheel chair... We will be home alot, and I of course will be making something! You need to find if the Department of Mobility will be up and running, it is a theme camp who offers what assistance they can to less mobile burners.

Does he have a power chair?

Little tins sound like a great way to keep your odds and ends together on the playa.

I'm currently crocheting a scarf for the BF so he can wear it during sunsets

I got a top secret camp project....and I started organizing and cleaning the craft room. I have a commission I need to get started on...I'm still trying to decide what to wear this year. And I want to lose weight before I get started /rolls eyes so that is my excuse for procrastinating.

I just finished deconstructing an old pair of blinky LED glasses I wore for new years a while ago. The batteries are housed in one arm of the frame, and a the on/off button and circuitry that times the flashes is in the other arm. I managed to pry all the wires and bulbs out from the front end that said 2008, but also snapped a bunch of connections in the process. After I fix the wiring I'm thinking of turning it into a headband. The old arms will be attached to the sides; they're nice and clear and do a good job of protecting the batteries etc.

I'm not sure where to go in terms of design though. I have a bunch of extra tulle hanging around, maybe I could make tulips?

I picked up a starters kit for crocheting (hook, instructional dvd and booklet and 2 hanks of yarn) for $1.99 last week, and immediately got started.

After making 2 large circles of pure shit, I started another one that, although it started out about big enough to be a thumbcozy, ended up being this:

Not knowing the rules or different stitches (the kit, being the first of a series for learning granny squares for an eventual afghan which I wonâ€™t be making, included directions on just one stitch â€“ in French â€“ which helps naught when googling â€œrecipesâ€
