First Timer from Sydney Australia

Post by k8 » Tue Mar 15, 2011 3:07 pm

Hi Everyone

Its taken a few years of planning but im finally heading to Burning Man. Excited is an understatement, I have dreamt of this adventure for so long it seems almost surreal that its finally happening.

What I am most looking forward to is being in a place where I can let go of all my worries and self conscious thoughts. I have kept a part of myself hidden for the 31 years I have been alive. Its time to let her out and be free to be who she wants without fear of rejection, sly comments and funny looks.

This is my year!

Welcome aboard K8 :)
Burning Man isn't about the stuff you see when you get there ....it's about the people that brought that stuff there

I'm happy for you! Welcome, K8.

I find out there that my worries indeed become simple ones--drinking enough, sleeping enough. I love being out of range of the people who would try to make their worries mine (and often succeed). It reminds me "Oh wait. Most of those things I think of as 'my problems' are not, in fact, mine."

I hope your "worries" out there will be similarly simple & easily remedied. :)

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I hear you can do that in Wollongong too, but come on down or up.

Aren't you worried about being on the wrong side of the international date line though?

Why would I be worried about being on the wrong side of the international date line? I have travelled all over the world before!

Yeah, but the man is going to burn a full 24 hours earlier for you, and you'll have to keep a straight face and not describe the burn to the rest of us.
BTW--go to your profile and Enable BBCode in your posts. And be careful not to trim off the tags and end up with a botch coding job...
