Oh the memories...I love Texas cops :)
I lived out there about 8 years got pulled over for speeding about 8 times, not a single ticket  . A few actually made excuses for me .
One asked if I'd recently gotten tires and said to have my spedo checked, another said I probably had a tail wind.
Burning Man isn't about the stuff you see when you get there ....it's about the people that brought that stuff there

My last visit to police station - going in police car with lights and sirens on (twice), jokes, some stupid jokes, laughing, writing the report on the police computer instead of the officer (believe me, it was faster), bottle of Slivovice...I got drunk (some of them more because I still could walk up the stairs :D )...fireworks (or was that the visit before the last one?)

I have a WTF I could use some input on.

You've surely all seen the before-and-after pictures of Japan... where you scroll your cursor over the photo from right to left to see the difference....

http://www.abc.net.au/news/events/japan ... eafter.htm

I wonder if you could take a look at the 10th one - Ishinomaki in Miyagi - and tell me WTF goes on on the far left-hand side.

Looks to me like a blue building grew where there was none before. Or is it a superimposed graphic for something planned... (odd to place it on this map tho, I'd think)

I just can't figure it out....
Worry is a misuse of imagination

She had blue skin, And so did he.
He kept it hid And so did she.
They searched for blue Their whole life through,
Then passed right by- And never knew.”

Dele, looks like the "before" was a set of sea-going containers.
The "after" looks like the "blue buildings" were superimposed digitally. But that's just my opinion.

Delle- the blue buildings don't look photoshopped to me (look at the rubble against the walls)- I think the "before" shot is just a really old one.

Another site that was doing this (I think NYT) actually gave the dates for the before's, and some of them were 2001-2008 era, which is definitely enough time to put up some buildings.

I think you're right. I see the shadows now. But they are all so uniformly blue, and they're the only things that haven't been pushed aside. WTF indeed?

Okay, this is interesting.

Afghan civilians killed in murder plot, GI admits
A U.S. soldier was sentenced to 24 years in prison Wednesday after saying "the plan was to kill people" in a conspiracy with four fellow soldiers to kill unarmed Afghan civilians.

Military judge Lt. Col. Kwasi Hawks said he intended to sentence Spc. Jeremy Morlock to life in prison with possibility of parole but was bound by the plea deal. Morlock will receive 352 days off of his sentence for time served.
Do you know what a Morlock is?

Image
Morlocks are a fictional species created by H. G. Wells for his 1895 novel, The Time Machine. They dwell underground in the English countryside of 802,701 AD in a troglodyte civilization, maintaining ancient machines that they may or may not remember how to build. Their only access to the surface world is through a series of well structures that dot the countryside of future England.

Morlocks are humanoid creatures, said to have descended from humans, but by the 8,028th century have evolved into a completely different species, said to be better suited to their subterranean habitat. They are described as "ape-like", with no clothing, large eyes and gray fur covering their bodies. As a result of living underground, they have little or no melanin to protect their skin, and so have become extremely sensitive to light.

The Morlocks' main source of food is the Eloi, another race descended from humans that lives above ground. The Morlocks treat the Eloi as cattle, and the Eloi do not resist being captured.
