I know very little about Aluminet, but I would make sure that spray paint wouldn't somehow reduce its effectiveness/affect its integrity.Dr. Pyro wrote:We are looking at aluminet to cover the front of our art vehicle. Anything you can add would be appreciated.

Looking at photos/videos of other people's projects the Aluminet seems pretty seeable-through in the day time if it's stretched tight. Can't say how it would work at night or hanging as a loose curtain, but I'd certainly be willing to take it for a test drive once I get it.Dr. Pyro wrote:We are looking at aluminet to cover the front of our art vehicle. I made a set of 10 "privacy curtains" out of burlap for my porch last last year. When I was done, I put the leftover salvage into the fireplace and was aghast when it just broke out immediately in flames when coming in contact with a tiny ember left over from an old fire.
With the number of smokers who sit on my porch, I wasn't going to chance it.... and ended up reworking the curtains into people, animals and other structures with the help of branches and some cardboard..... The resulting fire was quite pleasing. Moreso because it was in a firepit and not on my porch!!!!

Oh oh oh thanks for the warning!!! I have ordered some used burlap coffee bean sacks (cheep cheep cheep) to use for drying trash, recycling cans etc SO I will make sure to keep them out of the way of sparks, cigs, stoves and fire-spinning folks!delle wrote:Can't be stressed enough!!! Might make nice bundling for my burnable trash, though, huh?

I found something like these at the dollar store last year, and just thought one might work for "something" at burning man. I used it to hold my trash and recycle bags, and also as a last minute exiting camp dump bin for items that could be o.k. getting dirty, but not blowing away. I put a couple of bricks in the bottom, but a gallon or two of water would do as well I think. I usually have a line or bungees connecting things to each other or to heavier things, to prevent them blowing around when I leave camp.
Tamarakay... "air leaks"? Air mattress? If you are bringing a travel trailer to BM, you may want to put a real mattress in it. I have nothing but bad experience with air mattresses.
Another thing, for any who travel with an inflated air mattress: Deflate it a bit before driving to higher altitude. I had one explode on me once.
Travel trailer good. There is a big thread here somewhere about safe pulling of trailers.

Just a net bag w/draw string worked well for last year.. Evrything dryed out. Making it easy to drop the net bag into a garbage sack to hual home..

I'm wondering whether, as bed bugs pass from the mythical to actual human experience, what will happen to that phrase? Of course, it made the transition from actual to mythical, so there may not be anything to worry about.unjonharley wrote:Don't let the bed bugs bite :twisted:tamarakay wrote:tonight kenman and i sleep in the travel trailer for this first time. checking to see if our backs can take the existing mattress or if we need another one. finding all the air leaks too. we have all the camping essentials. one laptop, two cell phones, and a cpap. oh an ambien. :-)

Say, that is a pretty good idea. Fill up burlap bags with burnables and toss the whole thing on the fire. Sturdier than brown paper grocery bags...MyDearFriend wrote:Might make nice bundling for my burnable trash, though, huh?
I've never had problems with air mattresses! Best tip ever: put some polar fleece between the mattress and bedding to insulate from the cold air in the mattress.

Mattress is a big thick piece of foam. Experiment showed we need another two inches (eric, i know, wait for it). Anyway, by air leaks i meant in the old trailer. Seeing where the dust would come in and caulking it up. Found quite a few!

Renewed my class B CDL yesterday. I took a physical last week and the nurse forgot to put down my pulserate, I had to drive back to the office from the DMV to get the paperwork filled out. Process took 2 hours. They'll send my new super-encrypted license by mail in a few weeks.
I picked up a relacement bitevalve for my camelback pack, a new bicycle pump and Harpohorn for the bike.
Sunny and in the 70,s today but the yard is still to soggy to mow. I,ll set up a practice camp when everything drys out.
I bought a super-mega combination calzone yesterday, took two mealtimes to finish it. The local Pizza Factory is fantastic, I'm really enjoying each day now.
Liveoak is redeadicating it's train station thursday at 5:30 PM. My old hometown is really looking good now. The community is restructuring itself. Rebuilding, replanting, regrowing.

. Waited two day until payday.. There was a army suplus field desk.. The table part made a front cover.. Had drawers in three sizes.. Good thing it was gone when I got back..
I do not need another thing.. Four milk crates did a good job last year..
Was also looing at a strecher to replace the bed that broke last year..
Do not need it..
Instead, I'm installing a ply wood shellf between the drivers seat back to the motor compartment.. Then a nice air mattress w/ patch kit.. Wiil wrap the mattress in a king size blanket.
Selling and replacing the 7day cooler with a five gallon cooler water jug..

Received 1st of two hats today for "formal evening attire". Received 3rd and final set of goggles as well. Tried on uniform - discovered the 20 or so pounds had attatched itself to my ass. Not happy. Uniform looks good, tight but good, with new hat and boots. Now just waiting for Mr Yan to get off his ass and send my COAT!!!!!

I picked up a cheap 10X20 car canopy at K-mart last weekend. $99 for garage, $69 for extra full-enlosure. $69 for extension kit. It's only a 6 pole but I'll be anchoring it to the Geo inside. I might try sleeping in the hatchback with the backseat down, or in tents under the extension sides. I'm going without the trailer and extra crap this year.
