An Irish Pub by any other name...

Post by Ludo » Sun Mar 20, 2011 1:56 pm

To those who enjoyed Ludo O'Dillo's Publick House and Celtic Cinema last year, I am happy to announce that we will be returning in 2011 under a new name: The Dusty Swan Public Craic House and Celtic Cinema!

Though the name has changed, all the fun remains, including cold beer on tap, A Guinness in exchange for your performed limerick, the best Irish coffee on any playa, classic (and not so classic) Celtic films, live Irish music, whiskey tasting, and much more. You can keep track of us at TheDustySwan (dot) com.

We look forward to see your smiling, and somewhat dusty, Iris Eyes!

Slainte!

Ludo

I remember coming by on Tuesday I believe it was. You were only about two blocks from Barbie Death Camp so I walked, with my own cup. Got a nice glass of beer and started watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I think I was the only one watching, but everybody was having a great time. Took off about half way through the flick, but was very impressed by your bar. I would go back. Of course, the only reason I thought of dropping by is because several of you came by BDC&WB and invited me. Thank you.

P.S. You need more single women who have a certain morally casual attitude with complete strangers who play with Barbie dolls. Just sayin.

Addison,

We're hoping for the same general area - 4:00 and D. We like to be back a bit from the hubbub. 2nd choice is 7:00 and D. Just submitted the theme camp app today. We'll see come July!

Dr. Pyro, Holy Grail is my all time favorite movie, Irish or otherwise. It will definitnely be showing again sometime this year.

Slainte!

Why the name change? Still going to have a fundraising cup?

Mine from last year was actually stolen! (in friendly way) And I miss it.

CfM, I am sorry to say that my dear ladyfriend, Armadillo, and I are no longer together. She was the soul and inspiration of Ludo O'Dillo's. But you cannot have Ludo O'Dillo's without an O'Dillo, now can you. At her request, I renamed the pub.

The Dusty Swan is a allusion to my family crest, that of the Walsh clan. It features a swan with an arrow through it's neck, and the motto "Transfixus sed non mortuus" or "Wounded but not dead" Yes, we Irish are a cheery lot!

And, yes, we are indeed offering the fundraising cup! In fact, I was able to get the original carabiner handle mug that we ran out of last year! If you go to our website, http://www.TheDustySwan.com and support the pub, I would be more than happy to send you one, or bring it to the burn and deliver it in person!

Slainte!

I like it! Dusty Swan, something elegant and beautiful, covered in dust - just like me! 8)

I've always picked mine up in person (at Transformus, which I'm probably not going to) but I'll have it mailed, this year for instanter gratification.

Sorry I missed you last year, I was on the other side of the playa, around 8:45 and G I think. I would love to visit your camp this year. I have some limmericks in mind. As a matter of fact, I'm even publishsed, Thanks to robbidobs and the blue rooms we all share.
I'm ScotsIrish and will even bring my collection of Celtic music if you can use any of it.

Thanks, Plowman! I hope you make it by this year. And I'd be very interested in your celtic tunes. we're pretty low tech - running an ipod and cd player through a kinda loud home stereo.

Check www.thedustyswan sometime mid-July, and we will (Hopefully) have an address!

Slainte!

Have not been to BM in a couple of years but now plan to make The Dusty Swan a point of destination. I wil have to brush up on my limricks, but starters....
On the tits of a barmaid named Gayle,
Were tattooed prices of beer, stout, and Ale,
And on her behind,
For the sake of the blind,
Was precisely the same, but in Braille
If you dug a hole through the center of the earth, and jumped in, would you stay at the center because of gravity?

Looks like a great place to be a visiting...

Got a few passages to the Good ship Venus I will bring by. Here is one to get you warmed up

Ode to the good ship venus
by god you should have seen us
with the figure head
of a woman in bed
sucking on a dead mans penis

Not for the faint hearted!
